Does the Forum feel that Walter Clayton will be available when the Magic pick?

If so, would it be wise to select him?

Oh come on let us have a thread just to discuss and focus on Clayton Jr.

I’m honestly curious if going into the draft the plan was to draft Wolf at #16 and Clayton Jr at #25. IMO that would have been a solid draft addressing two needs we had and getting them on rookie contracts.

On the flip side of the trade if 1 of those 2 guys are there at #25 it’s a win

I kinda think Clayton Jr has to be the plan right now BUT if Wolf is there he might be the pick.

Some mock drafts had Wolf coming off the board at pick 15 ( OKC ) right before Orlando at pick 16

Haven’t seen any recent Mocks that have Clayton Jr coming off the board before the 16th pick and most Mocks having him available at pick #25

I don't think he will be there at 25. I know I am biased because I have watched a ton of him in college playing for my school, but the dude has it. His ceiling is probably 6th man, but in the 20s, that is a great hit.

Im prepared for him to be picked before the 25th. If he is still there for us by some miraculous reason, of course, we have to take him. Obvious fit and need.

You can’t plan on any player to be there at 25 and or have them be a key rotational piece rookie year.

If you don’t care about winning, sure.

I wouldn't be mad but I wouldn't be happy. It's one of those times where I don't know enough about a player other then as a SR in college he should be a finished product. At the same time, you would think a "true PG" would go WWAAYY higher then 25.

He likely won't be available when we pick. I'd trade our 1st with Jett or the two 2nd rd picks this year to move up and get him. We're not bringing on 3 rookies anyway.

I’m not writing off Clayton or anyone else projected outside the lottery from potentially dropping to 25.

My theory of Weltman not liking hometown guys has mostly held true. That’s why we won’t pick Clayton.
