Fall out from the Kevin Durant trade

Post#1 » by three3d » Sun Jun 22, 2025 4:55 pm

First thought , wow that’s all it cost? Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks plus the 10th pick and five future 2nd round picks. Jesus could there not have been a better package put together than that??

Think I’m a little surprised they apparently have been able to keep their own 2027 first round pick plus still own the Suns 2027 first round pick

Can Jalen Green and Devin Booker coexist (not to mention Beal)? Presumably one of the 2 will be on the move.

I'm OK with Houston being the next team for Durant to destroy on his never ending journey of trying to be happy somewhere.

Would this years 25th pick + 2027’s first round pick or future second round picks move the needle on an Anfernee Simons deal

That PHX pick likely won’t be a top 5 pick. I don’t think they’re done though. Green alongside Booker and Beal just won’t work. I love Brooks for them though.

What happens when a 37 year old star FORCES his to a handful of teams. Durant screwed the Suns by being vocal.

Durant’s age and he not able to carry a team anymore so not surprising.

Suns /Wizards pick throat deep in lottery. Confirmed.

Kevin Durant during 24-25 season was top 10-12 best player in nba, and top 5 in high usage vs efficiency range.

J. Green is talented but well passed wishful thinking he can figure out and be more than Lavine- type of stat padding -zero impact guy.

10th pick wasn't even Rockets pick but pick they got off Nets.

5 second round picks equal nothing.

Brooks is okey. Solid glue guy, but undersized SF.

Suns will suck, it's sinking ship.

They now have 3 players on highest payroll playing same position. Non of them can defend well on consistent bases.

Grizzlies can already start licking chops.

Sounds like the Suns want to move Beal, not Green. IDK if they can make this roster not terrible.

That to me was the main downside of the Bane trade. Potentially giving up top 2-5 in a top heavy draft. Maybe was a risk worth taking, but still a little scary to me at least. Even if you don't think one of those guys fits the timeline, those picks would have incredibly high trade value if the Suns land there.

But if you just win with this roster it doesn't matter.

Phoenix s 2026 pick might not be that low after all

What are the chances the #10 pick houstan just gave up for Durant ends up being higher then anything that the magic gave up for bane pick wise?

Booker and a bunch of scrappy role guys (if they can make it work trade wise) may work out better than three scorers who don't want to play defense

Suns 3-17 without Durant this year

Jalen Green has to have a massive leap in him or they are going to be incredibly bad. Their 1st round pick also probably also has to be good off the rip. It just feels very unlikely that they are decent. I guess they could also trade 10 and their 2nds to get someone good and try to win 40 games this year and skip on having any young talent at all since they are screwed anyway, but not sure that happens.

In a vacuum I don't think the return is terrible for one year of aging KD who picked where he wanted to go, but on a grand scale the Suns are in such a terrible position regardless.

Yeah it will take some rebalancing via trades. Green also needs to get way better since it sounds like they want to keep him. I like that they got Brooks, he can help you win some games.

I mean it is done regardless, I am excited for our team, but that was always the risk of moving the Suns pick.
