I have no inside knowledge on whether or not the player option was an actual hold up.

I just know the Magic generally do not like giving player options on deals.

Player option... hmmmm... is that a money thing, a 'keep pressure on the team' thing, or 'keeping an eye on that Seattle franchise rumor' thing?

This is great news. I am a little surprised we gave him the player option. We have to kill it and I think we have to win a title in next 4 years.

About as a lock as anything in the NBA... Although that player option is a bit interesting. That definitely smells like if this team isn't winning a title in the next 4 years or isn't a true championship contender I may be out type of thing. I guess we'll see how it all plays out.

do not like player options ...makes it really only 2-3 yrs and have to worry about wanting trade instead of 4..and start extension talk want it or not if he wants to wait unless top 5 player then you need to trade him with 2 yrs left to get value

Not overly worried about the player option. It could also just be incentive to get a new deal because this is just a max deal for now. The guy also wants to win and we're going to give him a great opportunity to do that.

Bring on the brinks truck. It’s well deserved though. Checked off another off the off season list. Can’t believe people were freaking out about this one lol.

Do not like the player option, only because I believe the Magic should sign him to a declining deal to alleviate our financials later on. This throws that out the window.

Trae and Doncic both had the same deals and re-signed because only they can offer the supermax.

This was going to happen. We now need to see an above average TS% out of him moving forward.

No more excuses. He needs to be top 5 in the MVP race this year or this is a disaster.
