POLL: Jamahl Mosley Replacement Possibilities
If this continues to go poorly for the Magic and they decide to move on from Mosley, who do you want to see in the big chair next?

Re: POLL: Jamahl Mosley Replacement Possibilities
Michael Malone, Taylor Jenkins, Mike Budenholzer all would suffice.
In a vacuum, Budenholzer is my least favorite of the 3 coaches, but I also think he might have the most experience with coaching a team where your best players play downhill.
A new voice might also help wake Weltman up to the fact that his team is antiquated and built for 2012 instead of 2025.

Re: POLL: Jamahl Mosley Replacement Possibilities
SVG is my favorite coach, I will always take him.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.
- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Wonder what the backlash is if we let go of Mos. Isnt he the beloved coach of the pkayers in this league?

If the team is struggling after 15 games in a season in which Conference finals was the target; I don't think backlash or feelings would even be a topic. At least I hope not.

Pacers last year were in this exact position with their fans calling for Carlisle's head... don't think anything drastically changed besides Hali playing better and them deciding not to get punked.

Finally the right Elephant is being called out.
It´s time to move on from Mosley, he was fine as a rebuild coach, but he´s just not good enough to coach a contending team.

Re: POLL: Jamahl Mosley Replacement Possibilities
Doc getting canned at 1-10 in ‘03 is the measuring stick for this sort of thing. And he had the Horace Grant plane blowup.
I do think Mosley will get himself out of this, but he’s going to have be more cutthroat with player decisions.
Let Stan enjoy his TV gig. Don’t need to drag him back into this franchise (this won’t happen anyway as long as Martins is alive) like we did Brian Hill (and we know that didn’t go great).
Out of that list, I’d say Malone.

Definitely not Budenholzer and his permanent ‘panic face’.

Re: POLL: Jamahl Mosley Replacement Possibilities
If the defense keeps being this bad for the next 10 games then I'll assume Mosley has lost the locker room. But whatever happens I don't think he'll be going anywhere before the new year.
My preference would be Malone or Jenkins.

If the Magic fire Mosley, then the team must go away from the players' coach model. That means a discipline oriented coach. Either Van Gundy or Malone fits this model. So does Thibodeau, but I think the Magic players would revolt with him leading the helm.
I will go with Malone; Championships matter.
p.s. I still wonder if Becky Hammond was not the better choice for the rebuild though. Mosley being upset that the players are not in shape; that's on his coaching style. So: we will never know if Hammond's style would have been better (at least by the Martins 2030 window)

Re: POLL: Jamahl Mosley Replacement Possibilities
I don't think SVG would have interest. Budenholzer has a track record of stubbornly pissing off players. For me, it's Malone - I honestly can't believe he's unemployed. Jenkins right behind him.
I like Mose but, if the season continues looking this, it's fairly obvious that the whole staff should turnover and be replaced with a proven guy who has a fresh different vision for the primary pieces on this roster. I think there are 4 players I'd consider building blocks and maybe Moe and the rooks...everthing else could be fluid this summer.

Little star Paolo would request a trade the minute SVG yells the **** out of him for the first time. I wouldn't be sorry. Just bring some PG and give the reigns to Franz already.

Carlisle has a successful track record, Mosely does not

Im not necessarily sold on Malone. I honestly dont know, what was his record before Jokic? Having that type of star player can make an average coach look good. Jenkins I thought did a good job with Memphis, and had to deal with a lot of Morant injuries. Bane could give the team insight on his coaching.

Re: POLL: Jamahl Mosley Replacement Possibilities
Malone or Thibs for me.
Malone has the best blend of playoff experience, buy-in culture, and adjustable half-court packages around a point-forward hub.
Thibs will maintain this defense and just needs a strong offensive coordinator.
