Start Foyle!

I think it's about time. I have to say I wasn't thrilled when Adonal Foyle came to Orlando. But I'm definetly glad he did. This guy just works hard. Even though he's offensivley challenged, he's been surprising me with some of his scoring. He was in double-figures last week vs. Jersey. I just applaud him after every basket he makes. And I think he deserves a shot with the starting line-up.
But who would we send to bench? What will our rotation be like? What position Lewis and Hedo are going to play?
Insert Lewis back to his natural positioin at the 3 spot. And I would send Hedo to bench unless he can play SG. I would like to see it one time. Seeing all these other line-ups Stan puts out. I don't see why not. I'm hoping after yesterday performance JJ will get a chance to be in rotation daily. He had a great pre-season before injury. And we even had this as a starting line-up in the Charlotte game (Nelson, Redick, Lewis, Foyle, Dwight). I'm not expecting JJ to get the start right away. But I want him to be 1st off the bench for the 2 guard slot. So my rotation would be like this.
PG - Arroyo Nelson
SG - Bogans Redick Evans
SF - Lewis Hedo
PF - Foyle Cook
C - Dwight Auggie
I'd have Hedo in starting line-up if he could play minutes at SG. And I'm hoping Brian Cook will be an assest soon too. And as you can see our roster has alot of holes. And needs some depth. But this rotation would at least change things around.
What do you guys think?

IMO starting Folye would make it harder for Dwight to score. The teams philosophy is to stretch the defense. With Foyle starting you would have his defender packing the paint with Dwights defender, thus making it more difficult on Dwight offensively. However this move may work out defensively, but then again you have Augustine coming off the bench and playing C so the defense would even worse.

IMO, Auggie tries hard on defense. He needs to bulk up a bit and get confidence and just be tougher.
You bring up a valid point with clogging up the paint. But the philosophy to have 3 point shooters and Dwight is failing last few games. And we need to try something new. And remember this is just the start of the game. We're gonna have times later in the game to create mismatches. But having Lewis at the PF slot is not his game. It wears him out offensively. And quite frankly his ppg show that.

Foyle would be playing center, with Dwight at PF... that would just create a huge congestion in the paint.

I agree that playing Lewis at the pf is hurting us. However playing him at the 4 would still be more effective than starting Foyle

who would back up dwight when he needs rest or get into foul trouble??? Foyle is not made to play that many mins. Gortat? he must not have what it takes b/c he sure as hell hasn't seen the floor much.
We have to play small ball at some point or we would see alot more of Auggie, Cook, and/or Garrity and we all know that can't possibly be good

Starting Foyle is a terrible idea. He's best suited coming off the bench behind Dwight, and is a perfect backup center for us. Sadly, Rashard is our best pf option at the moment. I could see him moving to sf once Battie gets back, but not until then.

Yeah ok, I can live with that, perfect was a bit too much. I'm a Foyle fan though. He's been a real nice addition for us.

yea, well it just depends on his match up...last night was a perfect example of how useless he can be at times...
in 8:45 of play, 0-1 from the field, 2 boards, 1 block and 3 shooting fouls, not to mention he gave up 16 points in the paint...

True. Hey he's getting pretty old. Tough to get it up every night, but you still got to love the guy.

As horrible as the Magic are defensively, you can not start Foyle, nor commit 20+ minutes to him regularly.
