The Reason for Our Demise

Elbow-pads.

In the pre-season, Magic Center Dwight Howard began wearing elbow-pads. The Magic went 6-1. This charm worked throughout the beginning of the regular season, as the Magic shot off to a 18-11 (.621) start. But then the unthinkable happened.

Image
Dec. 23: ELBOW-PADS.

Image
Dec. 26: NO ELBOW-PADS.

HE STOPPED WEARING ELBOW-PADS.

And the magic were never the same. Before last night's fluke road win against the Clippers, the Magic found themselves amidst a woeful 4-3 (.571) stretch with Dwight Howard Elbow-pad-less. Noone truly knows what happened to his elbow-pads over that Christmas break, but one thing is certain. They must be reclaimed before its too late and this season meets the same tragic end as seasons past.

Negative threads should be exclusive to game losses!

(the Magic won their last game!!!)

You've got to think big picture (pun intended), rather than one game at a time. The Good Doctor is offering solid research covering a span of 7 games.

However, if the rest of the games continue at the .571 pace that dr3 pointed out, we'll end up with a 48 win season.

Well the evidence you have provided with the photos is not the best....the game photo with elbow pads we lost and the game photo without the pads we won.

Good thinking! You know what I'm curious about? The amount of dunks by Dwight in games won and the amount in games lost. To me it especially seems like when Dwight gets 2 alley-oops in one game we always win. I really believe that's true.. Anyone can figure that out for me?

getting alley oops means teams are lazy on defense
hence we win
that would be my thinking

I actually think the number might be blocks. If he gets 2 or more blocks, I think the Magic are more likely to win -- because he is playing more aggressively on defense. And when they play decent defense, their entire game picks up - and it picks up the crowd because we like to see them hustle.
