Darko Milicic

Question for everyone. Could we trade Redick and Arroyo for Darko Milicic? I really think Darko would help - he is not playing well in Memphis, but he plays well with Dwight and would really help us. I know that guy Cornhole wouldn't like it, but who cares about him.
Darko's contract is very reasonable and he does play well with the Magic -he would fill a major void that we have.
I would like to see Redick play, but we need a big guy and the Magic seem commmitted to not play him. If he isn't going to play why not try for Darko.
Memphis might be willing to trade him as I think they have been disappointed in him - anyone have any thoughts on this?
I think Arroyo and Redick should be able to bring us a good big man.
I know all the talk of Darko being soft - bring him back to Orlando - we should have never lost him. Or if we can get someone else good I am all for that.
I would prefer moving Arroyo, Dooling and Garrity - but what could we get in return - probably not much and no one wants Garrity.

1) Darko hatesthe Magic
2) Darko's agent hates the Magic and Otis Smith
3) the laws of the universe would not allow such a deal to go down

I don't think Darko hates the Magic - just his agent. I think he is pretty good - he plays better alongside Dwight, but I agree that the Magic probably couldn't back pedal and pick him up - particularly if he plays poorly, but I would like to see it. I think it would be a long shot, but he has a very reasonable contract.
Thanks for playing along.

Nah, I prefer my overrated backup power forwards to play with some enthusiasm, rather than looking like the coach just killed his dog like Darko does. I'd like Swift though.

Good idea, it's not like we've ever given him a chance or anything.

It's all about timing and opportunities. Look how much Darko has done with them ... nobody calls him a bust. Oh wait.

1) Our team last season (with Darko) barely made the playoffs
2) Without Darko, the team is much better, and Dwight has better stats.
3) The Grizzlies continue to suck (with Darko)
Looking at these irrefutable facts, I conclude that this Darko is a bust, and not many of us Magic fans would want him (and his cult) back on these boards.

I say no, if only to keep the Darko homers out of here.

honestly we need a big man, but NO, not for that kind of $$$ and his lack of production are u kidding?? Sure he blocks a good amout of shots per minute but he is a headcase and thinks hes better than akeem olaujawon when hes barely better than foyle

But he is still better than any center/PF we have on the roster minus Dwight. Sure Darko is a headcase, maybe doesn't try as hard as he should, but he did provide some good interior defense and rebounding. Barely better than Foyle? Foyle doesn't even have an offensive game. But we could have had this lineup: Nelson/Turk/Lewis/Darko/Dwight...... that would have been a disgusting lineup. Now we just sit and watch as Dwight is the only physical presence on the team. Lewis and Turk- no matter how awesome he has been this season- are soft players and when the playoffs roll around, I am really worried about this team. I do not mean Darko would solve our problems, however we need another bigman who can shoot the 15 foot jump shot, block shots and play solid defense

I think you have to be careful about how you use the words "physical presence.'' He was tall, and he blocked some shots.

tall, with the ability to block shots is great...and he has the tools to do much more, like get 10+ boards a game and average more than 10ppg...but he doesnt, why? because he has a work ethic that rivals that of Michael Olowokandi, Oliver Miller and Stanley Roberts...not to mention he has about as much heart on the court as my dead grandmother...
and man, i still cant believe the horrid low blow you took...it doesnt bother me...but it just reveals the mentality of some guys on this board, you have nothing to say which would boost your statement, instead to chose to go down an unrelated path during discussion, to pull someones pants down...
i did like Darko, when he first came here...but it became evermore increasingly obvious that he was not cut out for the NBA, a league that doesn't hold your d*** because your 7'...around here you have to produce, or your through...
