KISSIMMEE - Gateway High School junior Elizabeth Johnson got an unexpected fashion lesson this week: two days of detention for wearing a pair of sweats with the Playboy name and logo on them.

Elizabeth says she was approached by a dean who insisted she change the offending pants, and she eventually did. But the 17-year-old says the school, which required her to stay after school for one hour on two school days, overreacted.

"The bunny is just a logo," she said. "There's nothing objectionable about that."

lol
I told her it was a bad idea, but the response is more positive than I thought it would be. At least the slantinel didn't rip her apart.

SHE'S A WHORE AND SHE'S SHOWING IT OFF!!!

Yeah, schools can be pretty anal about sh*t like this and students just need to adjust to dress codes even if they seem harmless.

It's the sentinel. lol Honestly, I don't really consider it a big deal either, but I guess 2 detentions is a big deal to I.B. kids who almost never get in trouble.

She knew what she was doing, she isnt dumb she knows ur not supposed to wear that in school but this isnt really news. Man the sentinel sucks. Why is there an article on this? Why? From my memory of my high school days i know this happens all the time im sure. No reason for this to be sensationalized.

Most people in Europe have no idea that the bunny symbol illustrates a Skin Mag. The bunny is probably as popular as the NYY emblem here; another symbol that anyone understands.

not that bad, two girls got suspended from school a few months ago for hugging. One of the girl's fathers had just died and she was consoling her, and they got suspended for inappropriate public displays of affection.

Yea *cough*I go now and I'm in IB too. I agree, though, a lot of the people in IB are complete idiots.

Good to see alot of Gateway students and former alum. c/o "99" here.

About the story, pretty useless display of power. I am sure she learned her lesson,... her parents should be ashamed of themselves.

And for anyone asking "who cares?" its not like anyone forced you read and then respond to the OT thread.
