I think the Clips may need to start over again, and Brand would probably love to play for a contender, with Orlando he would definetely be with one. The injury does scare me too, but in all honesty Brand seems like one of those guys who'd adapt his game without the explosiveness and still be one hell of a player.
I think a Brand trade to the Magic would work well for both sides, we get the PF, Brand goes East so not to torch them 4 times per year. Clips get a peaking Hedo Turkoglu to pare up with Maggette, JJ could do some damage there and Arroyo could be servicable until Livingston comes back. A good new start for all involved.
i absolutely LOVE the idea..... however i just think it's a little too far fetched.
ya know?
has there been any news on whether or not the Clips are souring on Brand/Livingston since the injuries?

ORL GIVES: Hedo Turkoglu, JJ Redick, Marcin Gortat, and a 1st Rounder
ORL GETS: Jamal Crawford and Davd Lee
Lee is a NY fan favorite, but he is exactly what we need. I HATE giving up Hedo, but we recevie a starter at the 2 and 4 in this deal.
PG: Nelson, Arroyo, Dooling
SG: Crawford, Bogans
SF:Lewis, Evans, Garrity
PF: Lee, Augustine
C: Howard, Foyle
championship.

SAC gets a big scoring option to help K. Martin.
NY only gives up one real player and gets Artest
Nelson goes back home to Philly
and ORL gets David Lee ??? and Andre Miller? wow
there has to be a way to get this deal done

Minnesota-Orlando-Portland
Minnesota trades:
Craig Smith
Salary: $687,456 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 10.8 REB: 4.8 AST: 0.4 PER: 16.84
Gerald Green
Salary: $1,440,960 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 4.6 REB: 2.2 AST: 1.1 PER: 7.56
Minnesota receives:
Channing Frye
Salary: $2,487,240 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 6.6 REB: 4.6 AST: 1.0 PER: 13.97
2008 2nd from Portland- the highest of Portland's 3 picks (New York, Indiana or Boston)
The Timberwolves get a high-post scorer in Frye who would be a great compliment to Al Jefferson. Green clearly isn't part of their long-term plans so this is basically Frye and a pick for Smith from their perspective.
Orlando trades:
Pat Garrity
Salary: $3,818,750 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 2.3 REB: 2.0 AST: 0.6 PER: 0.24
Adonal Foyle
Salary: $1,219,590 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 1.9 REB: 2.9 AST: 0.2 PER: 10.92
Carlos Arroyo
Salary: $4,000,000 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 6.6 REB: 1.8 AST: 3.6 PER: 13.86
Fran Vazquez-rights to
2008 1st to Portland- lottery protected and contingent on the swap provision with Miami
Orlando receives:
Gerald Green
Salary: $1,440,960 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 4.6 REB: 2.2 AST: 1.1 PER: 7.56
Jarrett Jack
Salary: $1,217,400 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 9.9 REB: 2.8 AST: 3.7 PER: 12.72
Craig Smith
Salary: $687,456 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 10.8 REB: 4.8 AST: 0.4 PER: 16.84
Darius Miles
Salary: $8,250,000 Years Remaining: 3
The Magic get pretty much everything they're looking for. In Smith they get a banger PF with a great attitude and some scoring ability. Jarrett Jack gives them a very good combo guard who could challenge Jameer Nelson for the starting PG spot. Gerald Green gives them a bigger and more athletic SG than what they have. Since they've shown repeatedly they have no clue about scouting or drafting losing a mid-round pick in a shallow draft is no major loss. Darius Miles is practising again and is now a mature man on a mission. He could be a valuable contributor off the bench.
Portland trades:
Channing Frye
Salary: $2,487,240 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 6.6 REB: 4.6 AST: 1.0 PER: 13.97
Jarrett Jack
Salary: $1,217,400 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 9.9 REB: 2.8 AST: 3.7 PER: 12.72
Darius Miles
Salary: $8,250,000 Years Remaining: 3

PTS: 6.6 REB: 1.8 AST: 3.6 PER: 13.86
Fran Vazquez-rights to

For Portland this deal is done with an eye on the future, specifically the summer of 09. While Portland certainly takes a hit talent wise they also move some pieces which seemingly aren't part of the plan. Moving Darius Miles' contract is the big attraction here. With him off the books Portland will have between $15-20 million in cap-space then and that takes three forthcoming 1st round picks, Vazquez, Koponen, Freeland and Rodriguez as well as an $8 million extension to Webster. Vazquez is making noise about coming to the NBA and what better place for him than with his compatriots Fernandez and Rodriguez.
In the short-term Foyle and LaFrentz back up C and Outlaw and Garrity PF.

Oh, can anyone play?
MIN's a nice team to pair with ORL, since they are so willing to send out current production and they can take complete non-production if they get cap relief or future considerations. Here's a trade I revised from the Trade board that got a pretty good reception:
New Jersey Nets
Incoming Players
Pat Garrity
Salary: $3,818,750 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 2.3 REB: 2.0 AST: 0.6 PER: 0.24
Ryan Gomes
Salary: $770,610 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 10.8 REB: 5.1 AST: 1.3 PER: 14.29
Outgoing Players: Jason Collins
NJN 1st - top 20 Prot
NJN 2nd
Orlando Magic
Incoming Players
Craig Smith
Salary: $687,456 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 10.8 REB: 4.8 AST: 0.4 PER: 16.84
Marko Jaric
Salary: $6,050,000 Years Remaining: 4
PTS: 8.5 REB: 2.7 AST: 4.1 PER: 12.07
NJN 2nd
Outgoing Players: Pat Garrity, J.J. Redick
Minnesota Timberwolves
Incoming Players
Jason Collins
Salary: $6,100,000 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 1.4 REB: 2.2 AST: 0.5 PER: 2.09
J.J. Redick
Salary: $2,000,160 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 3.5 REB: 0.4 AST: 0.4 PER: 11.63
NJN Top-20 protected 1st
Outgoing Players: Craig Smith, Marko Jaric, Ryan Gomes
ORL gets a PF that can score inside, and a productive Jaric to the tune of +13.5 PPG, +5 RPG, +3.5 APG. They also get a 2nd to stash.
NJN brings in Gomes and moves Collins for a late 1st and a 2nd
MIN loses a lot of production, but removes a couple years off the more useful Jaric's deal, gets a prospect that doesn't fit, and a late 1st.
MIN could swap an expiring Doleac (heck, Collins if you wanted him!) for any other expiring of yours, if you wanted.

I like the Bogans, JJ, Garity, Arroyo deal best, but would rather trade Nelson and not get stuck with his 5 year contract for a shoot first point guard who gets beaten definsively often by bigger point guards or even dooling. Arroyo is a big expiring that I would like to keep, plus he passes the ball well.

Players I'd like to see in Orlando are Dre Miller,Kurt Thomas,Delonte West,Cassell and Zaza Pachulia.I think all of these players are within reach using our expiring contracts combining them with a mid-level prospect like JJ or a top-20 protected 1st rounder. Some deals I'd like:
Arroyo for Zaza(Horford's emergence made Zaza expendable and Atlanta still have trouble at pg spot not to mention Arroyo's contract is expiring this year)
Dre Miller+Evans for Garrity+Redick+Arroyo+Dooling+top-20 proctected 1st round pick
Cassell for Arroyo+Redick+2nd round draft pick
Kurt Thomas+Delonte West+2nd round draft pick
for Arroyo+Redick+Garrity+top-20 protected 1st round draft pick
I checked all of them works in ESPN Trade machine
Arroyo for Zaza(Horford's emergence made Zaza expendable and Atlanta still have trouble at pg spot not to mention Arroyo's contract is expiring this year)
Dre Miller+Evans for Garrity+Redick+Arroyo+Dooling+top-20 proctected 1st round pick
Cassell for Arroyo+Redick+2nd round draft pick
Kurt Thomas+Delonte West+2nd round draft pick
for Arroyo+Redick+Garrity+top-20 protected 1st round draft pick
