So that would move Shard to the 3 and Hedo to the bench.

You'd be replacing Hedo's 18.7 & 6.1 with Darko's 6.5 & 5.7

Yes that's what it would do. It would move Turk to the bench where he belongs. I love Turk and he is having a great season, but the heavy minutes are starting to weigh him down. He hasn't had a good shooting night in almost 2 weeks.

Darko would also help with our interior defense and offensive rebounding.

Rashard is just average over 5...not really a force on the boards. Plus, if you remember Darko was playing great for the first month or so of the season. He was at around 10ppg, 7rpg, 2.5bpg. Not bad. Then he got injured and has looked lost. I'm not saying Darko is the save all and he will be an all-star. But c'mon, Dwight and Darko anchoring the middle for the next 10 years would have been great for this teams.

Which was what we experienced here for a season and a 1/2, a good game amidst 4 or 5 lost games.

darko sucks. it wouldn't be "darko and dwight" anchoring the paint it would just be dwight and some overpaid 7 million dollar bust from the 2003 nba draft with an attitude problem. orlando was smart not to resign darko and get enamored with his nonexistent potential.

Okay, yeah they were smart because what they have not is so much better. I'm just saying that I think Darko was comfortable here and like playing with Dwight. I think this team could have motivated him. I'm saying he would have been 18ppg and 10rpg and 5bpg, but tell you wouldn't want a legitimate PF playing along Dwight averaging 7-10ppg, 6-8rpg, 1.5-2.5bpg, 28-32mpg?

^darko just isn't worth the money he is getting paid. there are plenty of PFs out there that can give you 8 points and 7rpg for a lot cheaper.

i just wish we would have gotten Brian Skinner instead of letting him linger out there and finally get picked up by the Suns...he'd be wicked valuable right now...more so than Darko...

the only reason it would have been nice to have darko is because battie went down. if that didn't happen nobody would care right now. either way i am glad darko is gone. really did you see the things he said this summer when his team lost? that only comes from someone with issues and his play and motivation on the court pretty much reflects that.

Sure but we can pay Battie 5.7 avg salary for his terrible numbers. Darko has average 8ppg, 7rpg, and 2.3 bpg, during the last 5 games that he has played over 20min.

You all bring up good points for your case I'm sure. I think we can just agree to disagree at this point.

Oh, yeah, of course he would have.

I mean, what could possibly give us any indication otherwise?

That's one of my favorite lines that people use when talking about bringing in a head case, for you to use it for someone that was already on team. Classic.

I'm saying he would have been 18ppg and 10rpg and 5bpg, but tell you wouldn't want a legitimate PF playing along Dwight averaging 7-10ppg, 6-8rpg, 1.5-2.5bpg, 28-32mpg?

That's funny, 'cause that's not what Darko is averaging.

How about 6.5ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.9bpg? Oh yeah, on 42 FG% and 46FT%, 43.1 TS%.

If anything, the questions is:

Who wouldn't want a 6'10" sharpshooter playing alongside Dwight averaging 18.7ppg, 5.1rpg, 2.4apg, 1.1spg on 44 FG% 85 FT%, 57.6 TS%?

Battie is blue collar, and is a smart one on one defender, Darko is a better help defender...Battie can guard on the block, and is smart about his shot contention...

Hey Devin...try reading the whole post buddy. I said over a 5 games stretch not the whole season. And why is he a head case....go ahead and explain. And Devin no one ever said this has anything to do with Rashard.

What makes Battie a smarter player? Cause he is a verteran. I like Battie but he sucks and he is not a starting 4 or 5. He is a bench player that is overpaid.

Maybe this is dumb, but does anyone else think we very well could have 2-4 more wins if Battie was healthy? I was thinkin bout it the other day and its seems reasonable. Alot fo the games we lost were because we couldnt rebound and stop around the bucket. memphis is one that sticks out in my mind very well.

Good analysis theif.

Battie has average 4 ppg, 5.5rpg, and .6bpg (estimates) in about 25mpg during his magic career. Enough said about that.

I agree Mogrady. Because Battie is a solid bench contributor and we need another big man.

well actually, yes...
not to mention he has a reliable mid-range shot, a decent turn around sure he tries to avoid using his own offense as he'd rather let another player take the shot, but they are available to him should he need to use them. plus he has power around the basket and a solid ability to block out on the offense...plus he's a real great leader, and an excellent character guy according to, everyone...

his #'s arent great, but it's what he does outside of those stats that make him a great guy to have, even at his salary...

why are you so sold on Darko? is it that you really love Darko or is that you hate Otis so much you have allowed yourself to be blinded in this regard?
