A quick Chad Ford comment on the trading deadline

A Chad Ford comment (for what that's worth) on the trade deadline:

Jose in Orlando: Whats the deal with the Magic? 118 mill to play a guy out of position is insane. Put Rashard at the 3 and bring Turk off the bench...You see them doing anything to make changes????????

SportsNation Chad Ford: (1:34 PM ET ) Who plays the four? I could see the Magic making a move before the deadline to try to get another big man to help out D. Howard and allow Lewis to move. They have a bunch of expiring contracts with Carlos Arroyo, Keyon Dooling, Pat Garrity, Keith Bogans and they have J. J. Redick that they can shop. I wonder about Eddy Curry or Zach Randolph in Orlando ...

Eddy Curry or Zach Randolph?!?!

What?! Why would we want either one of those black holes?

Otis, don't listen to Chad Ford.

shoot, i'd take Curry in a heartbeat if the price was CHEAP and he came off the bench...not NEXT to Dwight though...

since when was anything from New York ever cheap though?

Knicks fans valued Channing Frye over Garnett in his NY tenure.

Uh, no. Curry can't play next to Randolph, so whats he gonna do next to a real superstar in Dwight? Randolph is talented but neither one of those guys is a winner. I'd be willing to look at a trade that sends expirings and picks for Elton Brand. I know he's got that bad injury, but the more I think about him next to Dwight, the scarier those 2 become together. Plus, Elton Brand was a producer on Rescue Dawn, 2007's best film.

considering the season, and how things have gone, not to mention their financial restraints, there was talks of letting goods go for 6 cents on the dollar...

I would take Randolph in a heartbeat. The problem in New York is that they ahve two low post scoring machines who can't guard anyone. Put Randolph next to Dwight and the rim will be protected. Anytime you can get a potential 25-10 guy you jump on it. From all reports he works hard in practice and vets love him. For everyone who says he isn't a winner, he has won more than Al jefferson, and who wouldnt want him?

agh, good old Randolph, one of only 2 players that I HATE in the league today...

1) i have a buddy that had season tickets on the floor, by the scorers table, and Orlando was playing Portland the week before my birthday (right before the ASG) a few seasons ago. So he had me come over and sit with him during the game. Zach went up for a shot in traffic, the shot missed, as Cato tipped it and there was no call made but Zach wound up on the floor. Zach gets up thinking there is a call, upset that there is no call, he lays back down in the middle of the floor, meanwhile Francis made a shot on the other end and Portland is pushing the ball back up and Zach is still lying down with his hands over his face....that's winner like...

2) works hard in practice? maybe you mean team practice, which is cool cant have enough of those guys around...what about physical conditioning? for the last 5 years he's arrived at camp out of shape, most recently he was questionable to be ready for the opening because he was a blimp when he showed up...i guess thats what winners do

3) i watched a Portland/Cavs game back in 03, when Bron has just come around, and I saw where Zach was a rebound short of a triple double, well a shot clanks off in the final 2 minutes of the game, Portland was up by 10ish, Jamaal Magloire jumps up for the board and Zach comes flying in at him and takes the ball out of his closed hands, during this action Magloire suffered an elbow to the upper eye area and had to come out of the game...just ask Ricky Davis, that IS how winners role...

this trade won't happen for money reasons. there is no way i would invest around 250 million dollars all together for randolph, howard, and lewis. talk about being idiotic.

no, even though Zach works those high zones well and has a lot of range, i still dont want him here...

however

Arroyo
Dooling
Bogans
Curry/Augstine
Foyle/Curry

would make for an interesting bench...teams take their big men out when Dwight is out and all of the sudden you have 2 dump trucks in there working the paint...oh boy...

no way we want curry. doesn't play defense, doesn't grab rebounds and turns the ball over. can i ask why we would want him? we already have those problems don't need to bring someone that is famous for it.

curry rebounds worse than the power foward (thats a small foward) that we have playing now and we have way more consistant play coming from that spot now.....
