Orlando Magic: B+

Orlando Magic (Grade: B+) -- The Magic have been the only other true contender in the East. Dwight Howard has become the most dominant big man in the game and Hedo Turkoglu is having a career year. They need a point guard with size to truly compete for a championship, but their road record (16-9) says they will be a factor all season.
ESPN.com: grading the East
A very good grade. Over the ups and downs, the Magic are clearly the third best team in the East, and will compete for the South East title.
I don't agree the the PG snub, as the SG void is larger for me. But anyhow, a good grade.

You just have to be kidding me, five years from now, not only the guys at ESPN, will be telling us the same thing about the PG situation, but you too, lol. If we are stuck with Jameer, lol. The guy can't play a lick of defense, neither is he a PLAYMAKER!!! LOL

B- is close enough to be fair, imo.

It would've been an A if our team didn't dick around for a while but these last 2 wins have shown that when we give the effort we can compete with anyone.

Last year we faultered already so we should all be thrilled where we are. But even in this thread we still have someone bitching about the PG.

I give us a solid B so far. Work in progress, but we are surely moving in the right direction.

I thought the same thing, but figured it's been brought up over and over, that it would be pointless.
I'm surprised that Ra$hard'$ contract hadn't been brought up either.

I'm actually very satisfied with where we are right now. With Lewis coming in, Batman going out, the whole PG thing and a new coach with a new offensive scheme, I expected a transition period before we saw results like this. Glad I was wrong.

Agreed. I would give us a B+ or an A-, because we have certainly exceeded my expectations so far this season.

There are, no doubt, some people on this board who just are sorry we are not having the kind of year the Miami Heat are because they're only happy when they can complain about something.
I maintain that there are people on this board for the sole purpose of running the team down and are not fans of the team at all. There are still others who only show up when things start to turn downhill. I'll let you guys judge who they might be. But if you only pipe in with negativity, even when the team is doing well, that's a good indication right there.
Sure, there always are things to improve. Even Boston, Phoenix, Detroit and San Antonio have areas to improve. But things are not as bad as the worst critics say and not as good as the top praisers make them out to be.

... and thus, a B+ is not perfection, and is basically fair.
(I also agree with the above comment about Battie; I expected the worst, but have been please to see Lewis playing quite OK at the PF slot).

I think a B is fair. we're doing better then last year. we're doing well on the road and our home games are improving.

1. b+ is fair and just.
2. a- is not that far if the defense keeps improving.

i know. i haven't even seen Garrity touch the court this season, so i don't know how he's hurting us?

I think an A- would be more fair. I haven't taken a look at the latest numbers so correct me if I am wrong but last time I checked we had the most games played, most road games and most back to backs in the league.

I love Garrity's boxscore against the Grizz. Totally clean slate. Did he even touch the ball during his on court time?!?!? LOLOLOL

I got to give SVG mad props. He took imo two semi scrubs and worked them into the lineup and made a solid two team rotation. The coaching staff worked hard to get Cook into shape and into the game plan. Evans has brought an almost Ariza type defense to the first unit. His active hands were sorely needed. I believe we will be more consistent for the rest of the year.

Please, tell me you're being ironic and you actually realize what PG means in this case, please. Or my faith in this board's IQ crushes and burns

I'd say B.
