#10 - JJ Redick

Image

Redick, the 11th pick in the 2006 draft, has seen his minutes cut nearly in half in his second season. That likely won't change anytime soon with new Magic coach Stan Van Gundy opting for "better defensive options on the roster." In his personal blog, Redick said he's "frustrated" because "it's been proven that even if I play well in the limited minutes I get that not much is going to change.

We should trade him to Indiana. Diener and JJ would be the best backcourt since Stockton and Hornacek.

Can't really argue there. He certainly should be given a chance somewhere else.

No, trade him for Diener.

Ever since we drafted him, I've been saying that he won't last too long in Orlando. He's used to playing for a big time team (Duke), and I think he'll thrive in a similar situation elsewhere. At some point, he'll be traded, or he'll just sign elsewhere.

West is even worse than Arroyo/Dooling.

The thing I hate about pieces like this is they always are looking to put big-name guys on already-good teams like the Cavs or teams that have been good and popular such as the Heat and that need a boost of talent to get them good again at the expense of their current struggling teams. It's always, "Oh, this poor all-star shouldn't have to finish his career on such a dog of a team.'' Oh, waahhh.

It's a little baffling what's going on with J.J. If the Magic aren't ever going to play him, then why would they want to keep him on the roster? Seems counterproductive to both him and the Magic. But then again, if Dooling, Arroyo and Evans all choose to leave in free agency in the summer, then the Magic have only one shooting guard and one point guard on the roster and no cap room to work with. You'd think at least one of those guys would come back, but you never know.

You mean J.J.? I'm pretty sure that the Magic picked up the two-year option on his contract and can keep him for the next couple seasons if they want.
