The negativity agianst the magic right now is..

Post#1 » by Shishnizzle » Sat Jan 26, 2008 7:42 am

Wrong considering this team has been palying so hard. Tonight the effort was crap, but this team has been giving it to us this year. Look at thier road record and how many games these guy' have played back to back this year. Don't want to excuse the lack of effort tonight but I am pleased with this team this year. I think our philosophy could be tweeked. I'm not sure this small line up can work for this team when it counts. I think Howard needs help rebounding and blocking out.Hedo at the two is debated. We need another big man..

people deal with stuff different, most people who are mega fans of one specific team take things very seriously and are crushed...they arent actually players themselves and they arent always capable of accepting things like say the players and coaches do...

sadly, it remains a fact that most players and coached of any sport just shrug it off and move onto the next....where the fan sits and stews about the negatives...

it's totally common...no need to really try and change it, its therapeutic...if you disagree, deal with it in your own way, shed your own light on the situation, the more you harp on something you see as illogical typically the more negativity it incites...

the team is doing well. but just well. we've done excellently for a stretch, but that's been proven to be just a stretch. not the whole hog. we've also played at lottery level (last 20 games).

we can be happy with our standings, but if we really hope for the contending team that we've been told we've got, we should be damned well pissed off!!!

Let's hope for a win vs. Boston, otherwise it'll be greener again.

See that's just the thing I mean, though. The fans here won't seem to be satisfied unless they win pretty much every single game.

Detroit and Boston have the two best records in the NBA, and people are saying the Magic had better win or there is going to be hell to pay on the board. The Magic have shown that, at times, they can beat these teams, but to expect them to win those games is to say that you expect them not to lose any games. I'm not happy that they lose either, but geez....

I can understand when people get upset when they lose to teams with bad records like the Grizzlies or Knicks. But those teams do manage to get wins every season, too -- sometimes against some very good teams (see Knicks beating Pistons, Suns losing to Timberwolves TWICE).

The Magic have a tough game, and the Wizards have an easy game; by the end of the weekend, the Magic lead on the SouthEast will probably be a single game.

But going into the following week, things change. Look for the Magic to extend their lead on the SouthEast.

The negativity on this board is pretty thick, I must admit. You know, we are leading our division right guys, and where were we last season....a losing record!!! I'm pretty happy so far this year, but I do admit the blowing of big leads and dropping games to Charlotte is a bit troubling.

Agreed, it gets a bit too negative around here. The fact is, last night we played 3 good quarters of basketball, and lost because of the one bad quarter. We managed to make it competitive at the end, and gained a bit of momentum going into tomorrow's game.

Exactly, we aren't a contender yet, it doesn't happen over night, but we are right at that threshold of becoming one, it takes some time, and the Magic are definetely moving in the right direction, and at a pretty good clip.

Detroit and Boston are the measuring stick of the East, and we're right below them. A year from now this team may be leaps and bounds better than both those teams. We've got to pay our dues.

I was wasted when I posted this last night. I woke up thinking I hope I was'nt too big of an idiot.

I was reading the game thread and when we loose, you know there are some pretty asnine things written in the game thread.

Dwight did'nt look very agressive going after the ball yesterday. When he does'nt dominate on the inside agianst Detroit, they crushed us on the glass. Not sure what the nummbers were. We need another power forward.

Detroit has been kicking our ass for the past decade, so I disregard everything that is said after every Det loss. But yeah, we desperately need a shooting guard and another big man.

I must admit, Otis should be on his knees begging Webber to sign with us.

trade the whole team, the only player we should keep is garrity, start by trading dwight for gerald green, turk for diener, lewis for antoine walker, and nelson for greg kite (find the man)...diener, garrity, green, walker, kite..now thats nasty....dynasty here we come  .....jk we got a good record, we just come out flat to many times, hopefully its just a learning curve

the problem people had last night is we pretty much got owned. we were never competitive in that game. of course some people expect a win every game and nothing less. but when you lose like that there is really nothing good to take out of it. people just want to see this team play with effort.

I think you mean we need A power forward

Back on topic, I'm not too mad about last nights loss, I don't think I even posted a single post in that thread. But just put into perspective what some of us were expecting this team to do last night: beat the Pistons twice in 5 days, at their homecourt. I think that's a tall order for any team in this league to do. I must admit it hurts to see our team get trashed like that specially on national television, but in the big picture I think we're rolling in the right direction.
Hopefully, and it's a big hopefully, Battie will be back in the playoffs and that will at least make it a little harder for Sheed (or any other PF we face), instead of him just shooting over Turk and Shard. The future still looks good guys, don't succumb to the dark side :)
