Who: Orlando Magic(27-18) vs. Boston Celtics(34-7)
When: Sunday, January 27th
Where: Amway Arena in Orlando, FL
Time: 1:00 PM EST
TV/Radio: ABC/580 AM
Season Series: Tied 1-1
Team Trivia Connection: Tony Battie played for the Celtics for five seasons (1998-2003).

The Lowdown

The Magic had their 3 game win streak snapped on Friday night with a loss to the Detroit Pistons 101-93. Poor shooting and free throws were the culprits to the Magic's loss on ESPN. Hedo Turkoglu lead the Magic with 23pts and Dwight Howard had 14rebs in the loss. The Magic will get another chance on national T.V to redeem themselves in this matchup against the Celtics. The Celts themselves are coming off a hard earn win against the Minnesota Timberwolves 87-86. Strangely though Pierce, Garnett, and Allen actually struggled combining for 16-43 from the field. I'm sure that if the Celts want to win the final matchup against the Magic for the season. They can't afford to have the "Boston Three Party" as some fans refer, to struggle like they did on Friday. And if the Magic wish to redeem themselves. They can't afford to come out flat like they did against the Pistons.

Magic Tricks of the Game

1. Don't brick this game up early. Play smart ball for 48mins.

2. FTs' have to be on point.

3. Make the Big 3 work for their shots.

We will win this one because I will be watching this, even though I have to set my alarm for a 1 PM tipoff!

Should be a very good game with a playoff type atmosphere.

It evens out in the end, they play Detroit twice at home and only once on the road.

It wouldn't surprise me if the C's and Magic do meet up. Both are great teams with great big men and dead eye shooters.

Sucks for you guys watching on t.v., you're gonna see a lot of Bill Walton, just hope that it's not a Magic lovefest.
Needs to be a sellout.

I heard that the game was a sellout weeks ago. Magic fans need to come early and make lots of noise for national TV. Bring signs, too.

Here are a couple notes from the Boston Herald.....Doesn't it just figure? Guys always get healthy just in time for their teams to play the Magic:

"James Posey, down with a sore right index finger since last Monday, worked out on Friday and may be healthy enough to play today.

Brian Scalabrine, who missed Friday

I am so confused...

hopefully you guys could help me out

I bought tickets to this game months ago. Before you start, yes I am a Heat fan, but I am also an NBA fan and its hard to say no to Orlando/Boston for $10 if you are a NBA fan

so here is where the problem comes in. On the tickets, it says game time is 6:00. So you must see my shock when I come here to see lineups and such and see a 1:00 start time listed. Did they change the time to fit ABC's schudule, and why didn't I get notification of this if they did?

so the game is really at 1? And its alright if my tickets say a different time?

The game is really at 1 p.m. It was moved up to accommodate ABC. Magic have been promoting this in every way that they can....their Web site, all their TV and radio shows, at the games. It has been all over TV here in Orlando, too.

Celtics are playing in Miami on Tuesday, too. Tickets might not be that hard to get down there .

thats cool. I never really visit there site or anything and only catch games once and a while, so I have not seen the time change until now

I am looking online now, but cant find an article stating the official change. My original ticket (that says 6:00) shouldn't be a problem, right?

of course not, lol

I am living in Orlando. I go to UCF. Magic vs. Heat on Wednesday is the game that I went to the arena to buy tickets for. But after I bought those, I just couldn't say no to a great game like Boston/Orlando for $10 more

I am so happy I noticed this time change. I was all set to be there at 6 tomorrow, lol.

If you go to the Magic's home Web page:
http://www.nba.com/magic

Look in the upper right side of the screen that says "Calendar and Ticket Center.'' It notes the time of the game as 1 p.m. They had bigger promotion earlier, but the time was moved up about a month ago.

There is a story on the Orlando Sentinel Web site, too. Go to:
orlandosentinel.com/magic

In a way no. I wish the Magic and Celts would play 4 matches insted of three considering the way this season has gone for both teams.

The O-Sen ran its forth story about the game being shifted to 1PM. I think this is ABC's first weekend. So, this means that Orlando-Boston is deemed "marquee."

As for the game, Orlando has been playing well and Boston has been slumping. That said, the Magic need to dominate at the 1 and 5 to win, and without Nelson, I don't see this happening.

It will be interesting to see how StM approaches this game.

I assume that Dooling is available for tonight.
