What about Randolph?

He can shoot, pass and rebound. The only issue I have with him is his defense, but I believe Howard could make him a better defender. He would certainly improve our rebounding woes and he would be the perfect fit since he can make the jumper. He would move Lewis and Hedo up which is what we need.
Another thing that I didn't know was the fact Zach is still really young. His contract has 3 more years on it after this season, but he will only be 29 years old by the end of it.

I don't think he's much of a passer either.
He seems to be a black hole when he gets the ball.

He shoots 46% from the field and 75% from the FT line. The only knock on him IMO is his defense.

Portland liked him so much that they basically gave him away, and the team got better after that.

Andre Miller is the guy we should be looking to make a deal for. Jameer, Garrity, and a future 1st?

The guy's got a pretty big rep as a black hole though. He produces, but he kills offensive flow.

What I have noticed whenever I would watch a Blazers game when Randolph was with them is he is very selfish. He refuses to pass the ball and would try to bully his way in the lane instead of passing it to an open man. Not a fan of his at all.

Randolph has been the worst post passer in the league from the moment he was drafted. He can't defend, wouldn't work with a fast paced offense, and is notorious for being lazy. Don't get me wrong, Zach is mad talented, but I wouldn't want him on this team.
Also, we don't really need another big-time scorer. As long as he can defend, run the floor, and can hit the open fifteen footer with some consistency, he fits our need perfectly. Zach isn't that.

In my view, he has made very little difference on any of the teams he has played on. And he's 32 and is getting paid $9.5 million. The only one that won anything is when he played with Melo and Camby. And so has everyone else there they were brought in to Denver to play point guard. (And they didn't make it out of the first round with Miller anyway.)

I respectfully disagree in the sense that if you put talented players around him he can be a very effective PG. As mentioned, he had success in Denver with Melo and Camby, so I see no reason why he wouldnt be successful with Turk, Lewis, and Dwight. We're not winning a championship with Nelson as our starting PG and no one's trading a franchise point to us either, so our best bets are guys like Miller and Bibby...I just happen to prefer Miller.

He wasn't successful with Elton Brand and Corey Maggette. They aren't talented?

No to Randolph. No defense and he's a black-hole on offense. Exactly the opposite of what we need in a PF, except that he can shoot to 15ft.
As for Miller, I think he's 29, isn't he? 32 sounds wrong...

Randolph's biggest problem is that he does not play full intensity over a course of a game. That pattern might be broken, but more often than not, laziness within a game is a habit difficult to break.

I wonder if people really watch not only our games but other teams games. First of all, Randolph might be the biggest black hole in the league. He does no pass ever. I dont think he is the type of player we need at PF. We have 3 guys that are averaging atleast 18 points per game. The guy that is our starting PG is basically a scorer. Zach is talented scorer, but we dont really need another scorer. We need defense, rebounding, hustle, toughness at PF. He is lazy, he is not interested in playing defense. He is not a team player. He was given away by Portland and got benched by freaking Isiah. That should tell you something. Its no accident that Portland is better and NY worst this year.

Z-Bo is extremely talented but he is maybe the worst low-post defender in the NBA right now with Amare and Eddy Curry. He is definitely a very good rebounder but his help and man to man defense sucks badly.Offensively he is one of the best low post scorers and can hit the mid-range shot as well.He is decent for a big at free throw line as well. However his ability to pass out of double teams is worrisome (even though he improved it a little bitr in Portland before regressing back again in New York this year). Also he had some troubles with his teammates and with the law as well thus ,taking into account his bloated contract,I'd say no to Z-Bo.
Dre,he would be definitely an upgrade over our current point guards however I have my concerns about how well he'd fit with our gameplan. His inability to hit 3's will be a major liability on offense and to be frank his lateral quickness slowed down a little making him a bit too vulnerable to young speedsters.
