What I feel could realy help the Magic.

After watching the Boston game last night I have come to realize what a player Hedo has become. Using the Hedo, Dwight, and since we have a max contract Mr shard, and using that as our main focus.
Here is where the fantasy begins. At point guard, we need that pass first type point to run the offense. A Nash, John Stockton type of player to make the other players even better. When there is an opportunity for him to shoot, go for it. Find that shooting guard to start. Obviously more of a defensvie threat than anything but one that can shoot. Like Bowen, I really think JJ could fill that void, he's hungry enought to fine tune his defense and he is one hell of a shooter. We'd still have plenty of role players to come in on the 2nd team.
So that is my rant as of now. I'd just like to see a new starting point to come in and RUN the offense without turning the ball over 20+ times a game.

we need a 2 guard that can defend and either a passing PG or a rebounding PF...we can hope and pray for a Nash type of guy, but they are few and far between...so if we arent going to make moves for better starters than we just need to try and add better supporters...

This is a nail-in-the-head comment. There are probably five PGs in the world that are A LOT better than Nelson. Yes the Magic would love Kidd and would bench Nelson if he were to move south. But realistically, it's not like Troy Hudson is the Magic's PG.
So, improvements to the roster are exactly targeted. The Magic are getting smoked defensively at the SG slot and are getting hammered on the boards at the PF slot. These are two major holes that can be fixed without trading for an all-star.
After all, is it really so crazy for the magic to target Ron Artest AND Charlie Villanueva? Both guys are probably obtainable without trading Turkoglu.

Seeing how difficult getting a PG might be, I'd much rather fill the SG or PF slots first.

I like Mo Evans and Bogans. Not a big Dooling fan. He does make some good energy plays, but overall I think his game is more bad than good. Redick playing would make the excessive amount of people who wasted money on buying his Jersey happy, and I'd like to see him rain 3's all day, but I stopped wishing for this long ago.
Carlos Arroyo sucks a nut

So let me get this straight, the original poster thinks that JJ can fill a Bowen like role?...............

JJ is NOTHING like Bowen... but I agree a pass-first PG would improve the team a lot. Artest is another good suggestion but I'm not sure if Villanueva could offer what we need. Maybe as a 6th man he would be very good though.

Rofl thats what i thought he was trying to say. He said a 2 guard to start, paying attention to defense more than anything, like bowen. And then said I think JJ can fill this role.
This is when i died laughing.

We need a defensive-minded SG, so we put in JJ? What?
That's kind of the point in having that Evans guy starting...
