Our upcoming schedule...

Post#1 » by theTHIEF » Tue Jan 29, 2008 2:21 am

it was mentioned recently that the toughest portion of our schedule was over, and while I agree that the road games are much tougher, have you looked at the next 10 games we play?

Wed 30 vs Miami*
Fri 01 @ Philadelphia*
Sat 02 @ Indiana*
Mon 04 vs Dallas
Wed 06 vs New Jersey*
Fri 08 vs LA Lakers
Mon 11 vs Cleveland
Wed 13 vs Denver
Tue 19 @ Detroit
Wed 20 @ Toronto

Bold = tough games
* = "Trap" Games

that's a tough 10 games...even if the most of them are at home...

i expect them to go seven and three we know they can beat the lakers they did it when they had bynum they dont have himnow, we know we can beat cleavland we beat them this year they are on a streak but we can still beat them, weve beaten GSW when they were the hottest team in the league i dont see toronto as a HUGE threat (still tough) we CAN beat detroit if we pour everything we have into it, Dallas and Denver will be very tough (we could do it though) and if we loose to miami phili indy or nj then something is wrong

Why wouldnt Philly be a trap game either? Lol

All of them look winnable to me, Bynum will be out.. Melo may be (I doubt it - but they dont really scare me), and the LeBrons.. we beat them in their court, I think we can beat them in ours.. but hey.. every game is pretty hard in the NBA

yea i made a thread about our next 10 games compared to the Wizards, who are very much in the chase. 3 games back sounds like a lot, but if they've played i think 4 less games than us, and if they won all of them they'd only be a game back (each win being worth half a game in standings). Which is possible for a team to win four straight obviously. So taking a look ahead, we see that though the Magic face some tough competition coming up, they have an easier schedule than Washington.

6 home games, 4 road games. only 2 sets of back-to-back games. only 2 of the road teams are above .500, and only 6 of the 10 teams are above .500.

No big deal. I think February is a LITTLE easier than it has been before but still tough, but March is going to be the bread and butter month for the Magic. 1) the schedule is just easier, and 2) Dwight always tears it up after the all-star break. :P

Ok what exactly is a trap game.. I thought it was a game you "should" win sandwiched between two tough games, but I'm not really sure on that.

The Magic are a 60% team, they have gone 6-4 in their last 10.

Going 60% for the rest of the season - and doing this by consistent 6-4 runs - is a path towards winning the South East.

My hope/prediction for the next ten games is thus, drum-roll, 6-4.
