People need to give Keith Bogans a break. He's done an admirable job. There has been a lot of games this season where Keith has busted out 17-18 points and couldn't miss. He and Evans are the only backccourt guys that have any strength for this team. My 10 year old cousin Tessa can beat JJ Redick in an arm wrestling contest. That's why he doesn't play. He's got no speed, plus no strength. He may as well be made out of paper mache. Bogans will at least knock someone on his ass on the way to the basket.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

Honestly, I think at this point Redick has such little value it's not worth moving him. I'm talking 2nd round value. He was an iffy pick with a ton of question marks, and thus far he's proven nothing in the league. I think you could maybe get a 2nd for J.J., but nothing more. It'd be better to ride it out with him and hope he miraculously turns it around then settle for so little in return.

How many DNP's does Redick have in a row now?

If StM truly plans to use Redick more, perhaps he will need to requet GM Smith to trade Bogans or Dooling. This is the easiest path to creation of bench time.

Here's a bit more info regarding JJ during practice from SVG:

http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_magic/2008/01/jj-reddicks-age.html

Van Gundy says Redick is smart, can shoot and is improving defensively in practice.

Van Gundy said he told Redick to just keep working "when J.J. came and talked to me . . . He just has to keep doing what he's doing. There's nothing negative with him. I've got confidence in him and I'm sure he'll help us when it's all over. I just don't know when."

"I have more confidence in Mo and Keith defensively and rebounding ---- that's sort of what we need," Van Gundy said. "I'll be honest, watching him practice . . . J.J.'s defending pretty well.So we'll have to see. That's been the big thing that should be a defensive rebounding spot for us."

JJ doesn't seem to be pouting so much lately, so maybe his conversations with Otis and Stan have satisfied him. Shooting specialists are valuable players for any team, and I think the Magic really want to keep JJ. SVG's strange comments about JJ and defense make sense if you consider that the team as a whole is not playing good defense. That pushes SVG to make defensive performance the most important criterion for playing time. When he gets the whole team to play some good defense, JJ should get his chance.

IMO, I like Bogans more than Evans. Bogans just needs to be a little smarter.

didn't help him against Memphis.

i feel bad for the kid. especially considering he's even been told there aint much chance of him gettin off the bench this season. that's just harsh.

it seems to me like Otis and SVG are just gonna keep him as a backup option until Mo leaves or Kebo is traded. and so when it comes time to JJ resigning i'm sure he'll feel jaded enough not to do the Magic any favours.

You spell funny.

This reminds me of the George Carlin (??) joke:

Man: Do you believe in God?
Atheist: No
Man: *boom* (killed)

Man: Do you believe in God?
Man2: Yes.
Man: Do you believe in my God?
Man2: No.
Man: *boom* (killed)

Point? Drop the 'u' in favor, color, etc. or I'll shoot you in the head.

What I don't get sometimes is why you won't play him with a big lead, maybe in the second quarter, sometimes to finish the third or even when no one can make a shot (you know about those games). He may not be a great defensive player but I know I loved the way Steve Kerr played and he wasn't that good at defense either. I'm a JJ fan since he was a freshman in Duke and I just want him to hit those downtown shots like always! PLAY JJ!!!

I don't really. He's in the NBA. It might just be that his game is not a good fit for the the NBA. But he's living the dream to much greater extent than 99.9999% of people.

I feel more for the likes of thEthEIf (I never get the capitalization right unless I copy and paste) who pour their heart and soul into it. They might have what it takes, but just have to deal with the crappy fact of bad timing.

Okay. Lets see the video. I keep hearing that he can play but nothing to back it up. Let others get on the bandwagon. Roll the video.

Oh crap...

I usually don't spell Rashard incorrectly...Reddick or the former Declerq now that's different.

However, I was joking with Ben whom I like, unlike Mr. Large Signature 8)
