Turkish Delight for Orlando!!!

I don't mean only the fact that Hedo did do this thing with 23 points 7 rebounds & 6 assists not to mention 2 clutch FT...but also Mehmet Okur was the man when Utah beat Washington with 27 points 11 boards & 5 assits.

I do really think that Mehmet Okur would make this team a real contender. I mean the team would probably have to give up Battie & Dooling. On offense considering that Okur is actually a PF (and a shooting one) Dwight would be hard to stop with the spacing. On Defence he would be a nice addition because although he is not that athletic he still a smart defender and has decent bulk.
Sloan is not very fond of big guys shooting as a coach so I think its not out of question...the Turkish chemistry  would be nice but who do you sit down? No way Hedo takes the seat after the way he is playing... Lewis as sixth man would probably the best thing but 18 million of ego is hard to convince :-?

Note: I will receive some heat but still its just my opnion ok guys 8)

Okur sucks, period.

Soft, lazy inconsistent shooting guard trapped in a big mans body.

Come on thats not fair... he might be not your kind of player but still its too harsh... I don't understand how folks are so hard on other players and are "borderline" homers when it comes to their teams players. I mean if you would go to a Jazz forum and would suggest a Okur vs Magic player they would linch you for even suggesting it(of course anyone except Dwight).
Believe me I am not brave enough to suggest a Okur vs Lewis or Okur ve Hedo trade:lol:

I hate Memo. AN why would Utah move him?

Sloan is the kind of coach who does not like long-range shooting bigmen. Boozer plays similar to Memo but is shooting from closer range. A player like Battie might fit in the system& a SG would do them no harm either... on the other hand Dwight does not yet the offensive skills to score inside when its crowded in there. Okur will draw some attention with his shooting (also he quit clutch) and might suit in Orlando.... anyway just my two cents.

If we could get Okur without giving Hedo, I'd do it without thinking twice.

The guy we would need from Utah is Paul Millsap. We dont need another scoring big, we got scorers at those positions.

Actually I like Millsap alot but he needs a capable PG to function(Nelson & Arroyo would not cut it) and with him in the game Dwight will get double/triple teamed constantly. For Millsap to make an impact Dwight has to develop his passing skills a lot...

Millsap dont need a PG to rebound like crazy an get putbacks..

Nobody needs a PG when he gets offensive rebounds... but when its playoff time and things get serious, defenses adjust to players he is the kind of player who needs assits. We all know they won't coming from this guard rotation!!! :nonono:

Still I think he would be a nice addition but the solution he is not.

A nice addition, probably. Would it make the team much better? No. Only marginally. Because we already have offense. We already shoot a bunch of jumpshots.

What we need is some guy with a lot of size who is more of a rebounding/defender. Which is why I am not laughing as much as others at the thought of Kwame coming to Orlando. That guy is a terrible #1 pick but what he is good at is exactly what we need.

If he can be acquired for a cheap price, absolutely. But he's only good in stretches, so I wouldn't trade anyone good for him...

Okur is not soft or lazy he just seems so but the Magic just don't need anymore guys to spread the floor for the Beast. Rest of the crew is full of them.

Excuse me but, how can people say Okur sucks? Do you people watch any other teams other than the Magic to have such an opinion? He can rebound, he has been a terrific shooter throughout his career, can creat his own shot. I can't believe people say Okur "sucks", you guys are delusional. I guess Cook, Battie and Augie are better, right?

Exactly my point... I mean you may not like the way he plays but to badmouth a player just because he is on another team... anyway everyone is entitled to their opinion...would be nice if its well grounded but life is not perfect :nonono:

i have been watching him for years; he can't rebound, he can't create his own shot!, he's soft and he's a bad defender... yeah he's a good shooter but orlando has a lot of shooters.. but i should add that he's not hopeless, if he focuses defense, rebounds and blocks, he will be a great asset..

He can't rebound? He had a 9+ rebounds per game year playing alongside Boozer 2 years ago. Since 2004 he's had more boards per game thna any other big we have except Howard. His passing ability is by far better than any big of our roster can offer, that's why he averages a positive A/TO in his career. He can't create his own shot? Apart from the funk he had to start this year the man averages over 18 and 17 ppg in the last two years.
He's a great big guy. I really don't understand people around here acting like he's a scrub. It's ridiculous and I seriously doubt you've seen him play like you're saying.

okur is slow, but he's good at guarding bigs in the post.

his game is all about offense. offensively, he makes the jazz what they are. even at his crappiest, he takes a big man out with him and this allows deron and booze to get to work, and demolish the opposition.
probably the best shooting center in terms of range if considering dirk as a PF. he's won a ring, been an allstar. oh yea, and he's also made more game-winners in a month than dwight and lewis have made in their careers.

so in short, the magic can't get memo, and the jazz would never give him up unless it was an amazing deal for them.

creating shot is about ballhandling and guard skills.. memo can't create his shot but he'S a center, this is not a negative side of him..
9.1's pretty good(boozer played just 33 games at this year, though this is pretty impressive) but this year it's just 5.8.. when he was playing in turkey, he was a great rebounder but at the moment he's not fighting for rebounds. Offensively he's a good player. but he should improve his defense..
