do you think he is he a young incarnation of Robert Horry? the "poor man's version" if you will...
my Brother made that comment last night after the 3 huge trey bombs im a row...and the funny thing is, is that I had thought about that a few weeks back when we played da Bulls...

I was moreso thinking along the lines of a young Pat Garrity.

Unlikely that guy still has a long way to go. Horry in my opinion isn't about greatness it's about Swagger. That and Cook needs to lose allot of weight along the way.

Cook really isn't that "out of shape" it's mostly his proportions that make him look larger and cause him to run funny...agreed that he needs to continue working out and developing his upper body...

In my opinion Cook's progress so far is thanks to Stan Van Gundy getting the best out of him as his defense has looked "Ok" when compared to Reshard in certain matchups.
Plus if he gets hot he has his usual 11pt quarter.

a poor poor poor version........
no, but seriously I think Cook needs to do it in the playoffs b4 he is compared to Horry....thats what Big Shot Bob is all about
if he continues to poor in the offense off the bench and hustle I don't care who u compare him too, I'll be more than happy

I hate to say this, but the more I see him play the more I kind of like the guy... He plays well when Howard is out there also. I was thinking of a lineup consisting of a PG/Hedo/Lewis/Cook/Howard

well i should have said something more like has the ability to be Robert Horry or is capable of being Robert Horry...the way he drills that 3 ball, it's just over with so quick...
idk, having watched Horry play for so darn long, about 20 years ago, Horry played a lot like Cook is playing now, awkward and all...

Robert Horry? He's only the best ever bench player. Please reduce the blasphemy.
As above, Cook is the newer, younger Garrity. No more, no less.

Cook can shoot in streaks. That's where the comparison ends. Horry can do a little bit of everything including actually guarding the post every once in a while.

i think some of you guys should go back and watch game footage of Horry from about 12 years ago...forget the big shot rob aspect...just compare them as early players...the PG comparison is there, but there are also some differences...
and I think Cook even has the ability to be big shot Cook...

I do not agree. The reason why Horry will get into the Hall of Fame is that he has ice water in his veins. How can a guy ride the bench for 0 minutes, then come in and hit three 3s in the late forth? What prepares a player to be capable of doing that?
Horry is great in spite of his statistics; that's the point!

Brian Cook is the reincarnation of "Big Smooth" Sam Perkins. Same size, same shot, neither did much else.

Cook is like Sams Club, he gets his points in bulk. Im glad we have him, he makes defences respect his outside shot, when he makes them plus he seems like a nice guy.
Him having the ability as Horry, I would have to see much more of him, right now of the so little I've seen hes is a good player he may some bad shot selection but he is a great pick and pop player.
I dont think he's been in the late game situations yet, so time will tell if Cookie can get to the Big Shot Robs level but I hope he does, it would be nice to have.
