Denton: REDICK'S FRUSTRATION OVER NOT PLAYING AT A BOILING P

did anyone post this article by Denton? here is the part that i found interesting.

And Redick has apparently practiced quite well, too. The media (OK, The Orlando Sentinel's Brian Schmitz and myself) were given a rare sneak peek at practice Thursday and I was floored by what I saw.

During one 10-minute scrimmage, Redick scored 14 of his team's 16 points. He hit one long jumper after another, made a couple of really nice assists and (gasp!) held his own defensively.

Here are some JJ quotes.

redick should go up to otis and try to fight him, then svg would play him saying he likes his toughness...

I think otis just wants him as insurance and is just making him wait for his time to shine

It happens alot in the league.

Look at Andre Blatche.

And i also think he wants to resign him for cheap

The wizards never gave him any minutes and they ended up resigning him for cheap

I live up in DC and lucky for Blatche his stab wound wasnt that serious. That was not the reason they kept him on the bench so much. Coming our of high school they didnt think he was ready at the time and they are still working on him getting into better shape. He gets winded a lot. Jamison and caron always talk about him growing profesionally and training outside of the wizards practice routine

that seems like the 5th article this year, on how well jj does in practice, that he plays defense and scores like crazy, stan even praises him...if we dont understand why he doesnt play, how the heck do you think jj feels?

yeah now it really doesnt make sense, i always thought there had to be a reason he didnt play and i assumed maybe he gets owned in practice. But reading this, there seems to be NO reason unless theres some crazy conspiracy...either that or today was a complete fluke in practice...

or it is a smoke screen by Otis to push up JJ's trade value.

I think the main reason JJ isn't getting playing time is that SVG doesn't want to mess with a system that is working. For instance when Jameer came back from injury it took him a while to get back into the rotation, and he's still not back starting because the team has been on a great streak since he went out.

I would really like to see JJ get some more minutes though. I've never thought his defense was that bad, especially this year. When he gets in I see him hold his own, but he's often against superstars who will hit the shot anyway.

We'll get more insight about this soon.

I love SVG aka Mr. PIMP but I'll never understand him about the JJ case. I mean you can talk about D all night long but the players we have ain't exactly great either. Offensively JJ is much better. I'm not saying he should get a lot of minutes, but he should at least have gotten a couple a game. He could become a vital part of this team, he's pretty talented. He needs a fair amount of minutes to prove himself.

I think if Bogans keeps playing as bad as he has the last few games then JJ is gonna get time soon.

I'm all for giving JJ at least a chance. Despite being frustrated he obviously still practices hard so reward the guy. Maybe he can make 10 3's against Detroit.

Sort of ironic that out of our two undersized white boy shooters who got constantly compared to each other last season, we let Diener walk and he gets plenty of playing time in Indy while our lottery pick player rots on the bench.

I wasn't in favor of drafting Redick; I was one of those Brewer guys.

But I wasn't mortified with the pick either. I looked at it as a decent pick, and I've pretty much always been pleased with his play (what little we've seen).

With that said, he needs to shut his trap.

If we were a lottery team, then you might get a little support from me, but as of now, shhh. Also, way to disrespect you teammates.

i like jj and probably want to see him play more than anyone here but hes still young and he needs to shut his mouth there are tons of kids who would kill to be in the nba and ride the bench. wait till next year jj and if all goes down the crapper leave
