shouldnt you be thinking of who we facing first rd. A first round matchup with Cleveland or Toronto wouldn't be a cake walk.

Cleveland is doing its best to catch the Magic right now, and the Cavs play almost no one the rest of the season. They have three games against the Pistons, two against the Magic, one against the Rockets and one against the Celtics. The rest of their schedule is against scrubs.

I don't like the title of this thread, because it's really assuming A LOT.

However, it's a possible future scenario that I believe many of us are aware of in some capacity. What can we do about it? Nothing, except watch our team continue to play and see where the cards fall. Still lots of basketball to be played.

There are about 30 more regular season games we have to worry about first. Plus we aren't out of the woods with Toronto and Cleveland right with us. Washington still could be a factor too. I want second round series as bad as anyone, but nothing is a given, just as the Dallas Mavericks last year.

Those are going to be 6-7 Game Series.

And If washington gets Arenas back in time. That might be a 7 Game series aswell

Looking into the 2nd round isn't so wise right now.

If we were to get past the 6th seed we would inevitable play the winner or 2 7, which would mean the Pistons unless the Cavs get hot or the Celtics get cold

When was the last time we won a playoff series?

We aren't even a lock to win our damn division...

Atlanta, New Jersey, Washington and so on....all those bottom teams can beat us,.

I personally believe that if we make it to the 2nd rd it will be us playing Boston. I fully believe Detroit will end up number 1 in the Eastern Conference. Boston without KG can barely get by T-Wolves. I guess it depends how much longer KG is out for.

I highly doubt it will.

Playoffs and regular season are totally different animals. You know as well as anyone that this team doesn't come to play at all against teams they view as lesser.

In the playoffs they'll be going 100%.

But since we don't have the playoff experience like the Celtics or Pistons do. Winning in the first round isn't a sure thing.

We only been there 1 time. If we play the Nets, or Washington (If Healthy). Teams who have been in the playoffs for the last 4 years. We might go down to them. Toronto vs. Nets last showed last year that experience is key.

And match-ups are key too. Atlanta has always beaten had our number and match-up so well with us. Like Golden State last year against the Mavs, they match-up with us so well. They can win the series against us.

Really man, don't act like 2nd round is a garunteed thing. Only people garunteed 2nd round in the East are Boston and Detroit.

When a team gets a monkey off of its back, it gets a new monkey; until a team wins the title.

The current monkey for the Magic is winning a first-round playoff series. It has been a decade. That's a monkey!

From there, the new monkey will be beating Detroit. That that test is in the second round this year would simply be a sign of growth for the Magic.

But, if the Magic play Washington in the first round, the most likely opponent, they will be formidable. A healthy Washington is not the teams losing games now. The Magic need to get over the first-round monkey, and that can be the only focus.
