Tons of options, expirings, and 2 guards.

In need: A BIG to start along Dwight or relieve Mr. Howard. A servicable 4 man who can bang the boards and who can also "run".

Foyle just ain't cuttin' it.

Options: (guys that I assume could be available; if not already, and if the right deal came along could be had)

Reggie Evans (Philly) 4 years left $20 mill owed

Wilcox (Seattle) (owed $12 mill next 2 years)

Collison (Seattle) (owed $25 million over next four years)

Kurt Thomas (Seattle) (expiring @ $8.1 mill)

Haslem (Miami) 3 years left @ $6-7 mill per year

Joe Smith (Bulls) expiring @ $5.2 mill

I think Seattle is out best bet as they aren't going anywhere fast.

They're looking at expirings and they have a glut of BIGS.
In rebuilding mode and developing Durant / Green.
Also, in the process of maybe moving OKC.

So Owner Clay Bennett might be not be opposed to cutting salary.

Otis get it done!

I say we do this

Trade ID #4487367

His stock could not be lower so i think theyd take the relief and some decent contracts for him it would put us about 9 mil higher in salary for next year tho i wonder if the magic brass would do that also wed have to pic up a few small contract freeagents for our bench but i think id be willing to take the risk.

Orlando sends:
Bogans(slightly better than avg defensive sg, can shoot the 3, expiring)

Garrity(expiring, can help spread the floor with 3pt shooting) and

Augustine( young pf with some potential, expiring)

Sea sends:
Chris Wilcox

What I like about the Magic payroll is that ever guy that can be considered core is locked up. And every give that needs to be upgraded is expiring.

GM Smith has created exactly the salary situation needed to keep the keepers.

Ben Wallace is that guy, that would look nice next to Howard.

I'm not sure why you think that the Sonics are desperate to save those $6.5 mil Chris Wilcox is owed next year.

Wilcox(or Collison) won't be thrown away just to save a couple of dollars and would only be available for an upgrade, which you don't offer us with the pieces you're willing to trade.

That's about as good of a trade offer as us offering you Chris Wilcox and a 2nd round pick for Dwight Howard.

you'd have to add Beattie also in order to match salary - and Bulls would probably do that deal

I can't believe some people would actually welcome Wallace and his contract to our team.

After this past summer, what does a "contract", albeit good or bad, mean to the Magic?

It's about putting the right pieces around Howard. Who wouldn't want a guy filling a Charles Oakley/Otis Thorpe type role here? Wallace could do this for several years in a smaller role than he currently has in Chicago.

The Magic don't need another scorer. They need some beef.

It's about winning............
