Hedo still not an All-Star (Rasheed replaces Garnett)

Post#1 » by penn24 » Sun Feb 10, 2008 7:00 pm

As per the wiretap....Doc says KG is unlikely to play in the ASG.

Is Turkoglu first on the replacement list? I would have to say yes...especially after the reserves were announced and he was the consensus pick for "one who got left off".

2-time Eastern Conference Player of the week.
Countless clutch shots.
Turkey dance...

Hedo for KG replacement?

Updated title.

As much as I would like to believe so, that would leave the NBA's best record with one representative in the All-Star game. And as much as I feel Ray Allen has definately not had an allstar season, he did hit a few buzzer beaters also.

I would love to see Hedo there, but my gut says Stern picks Ray Allen, and I hate that.

Its not even that the Celtics have one representative.

Its no ones fault that KG couldnt make it but everyone knows he was supposed to be there.

If Ray Allen goes then they really have 3 "all-stars"

Whats really bad is that the Magic only have one representative while the Wizards have two.

It's not really important anyway.

I'd rather the Magic players got much needed rest and escape from the NBA instead of a long weekend playing a game that does not matter.

Valid point, and we can appreciate Rashard's decision to decline a 3-point shootout invitation.

But it's been publicized that this is an experience that Hedo would like to have in his career, and this is the year of all years for his dream to become a reality. Don't you think there is the slightest importance psychologically for Hedo to get this accolade? Everybody likes to be rewarded for doing a good job....otherwise what is the incentive for hardwork and/or success?

No question there is likely a positive mental effect on some players.

Still, the season is a grind......and Hedo has struggled to stay consistent throughout his career.

JMO, but I do think Hedo gets the all star call in case there becomes an opening. In that case, congrats Hedo.

I disagree, I think Hedo making the all star team (which was his goal even before the season started) would be great for his mental psyche and confidence going in to the second half of the season. Anything to boost Hedo's confidence more im all for it

ESPN just reported that Rasheed Wallace would be taking the place of KG in the ASG...

Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

It sounds horrid but I hope Caron doesn't make it. Hedo deserves an all-star appearance after his performances this year.

Rasheed has played well this year in Detroit, just not well enough to edge out Hedo, IMO.

Wallace is averaging 12.9 points and 7.3 rebounds this season.

Forget Hedo there are dozens of players who made more contributions... most of them on quality teams... this choice sucks!!!

I think it came down to them needing a PF/C.

Look at all the bigs they have out West.

If it was a SF injured and KG was still in it I think Hedo would have made it.

Wow. NBA surely doesn't want any deserving people in there. Sheed? Heck, if they were against Hedo so much, they could have gone along with Crash!

True, but Caron might miss the game too.

He's an SF, and I guarantee they replace him with SG Ray Allan. Because David Stern is a dick.

Ray Allen, Jason Richardson or Jerald Wallace will get in over Hedo IF Caron doesnt make it to the ASG, just watch...

I know man, it's disheartening, but it's all good as long as Hedo keeps shoving clutch/game winning shots up other teams asses on a regular basis.

Unfortunately, I think Ray Allen might be selected before Hedo.

Agree...as long as he keeps this level of play its OK... the Allstar game would be a nice bonus but lets not foget its just a silly show in the end.
