Osen: Dooling enjoys role as 6th man

While Dooling enjoys his role as a sixth man, he hasn't given up on the idea of becoming a starter. He'll likely have to go to another team for a crack at that.
Dooling is in the final year of a three-year, $10-million contract that pays him $3.5 million this season. Unlike some players, he's reasonable and realistic when evaluating himself in the free-agent marketplace.
"It's too early too say what's going to happen. I'll evaluate my situation, but I'm big on this team," he said, ticking off reasons why he'd like to stay with the Magic. "I know I'd rather be a role player on a good team than a starter on a bad team."

I really like Dooling, he works hard as a player and seems to have a good head on his shoulders. He's probably best coming off the bench as an energy guy, I hope he'll stay on the Magic in that role for the next few years.

In my dream offseason....
We resign Dooling and Evans. Sign Kelenna or Childress with MLE. Trade JJ, rights to Fran and future 1st for CV. Use this years pick on a project Point Guard.
Jameer/Dooling/1st round pick
Kelenna or Childress/Evans/Bogans
Rashard/Hedo/Bogans
CV/Battie/Cook
Dwight/Battie/Foyle
Hedo can be our 6th man playing starters minutes and primary ball handler off the bench. Battie can be the first big off the bench.

I too would love to re-sign Mo and Kedo.
