Looks like Deavan George has put the kabash on the Kidd trade.

All the principals are playing in the DAL game tonight, and George is sucking arse so far. I wonder if he's getting booed by the home crowd?

I'm sure they will find a way around it, can't see Kidd going back to Jersey now... but still dunno how you let a guy sign for 1 year and have a trade veto... lol... hilarious.

he's just delaying it really. they'll find a way to get him to agree, whether Cuban slips him some cash under the table, or some other way. I heard something about the Suns offering to buyout George's contract from the Nets if he's traded there, and then signing him there, so he'd make more money, agree to the trade, and end up on a contender still.

Still, pretty funny that George did it.

There's gotta be something the Mavericks can ship out to still make it work.

that's funny...i thought kobe was the only one with that clause in his deal...garrity has a clause that states that if he gets traded he makes more money over there...i think they put that in there hoping he would demand a trade so we can get rid of him

Yeah I just read up on this, all players playing under a 1 year deal have to agree to waive their bird rights if traded... so its not just Devean George who has this clause.

If he doesn't agree to waive it he can't be traded.

So we couldn't trade Foyle without his approval?

Its only players on a 1 year deal who have bird rights, Foyle has no bird rights because he signed as a free agent... I'm not sure how many players are on George's situation.

It also has to be at least the second contract with the same team, with the second contract only being one year I think.
