They'd finally have a PG, and probably be able to make the playoffs, right now they're tied for 7th and only 2 1/2 games out of 6th place. Which is just pathetic cause they're 7 games under .500. This might be the first time a 50 win team doesn't make the playoffs (western conference), yet in the east a team without 40 wins is going to make the playoffs. Sad.

I don't think this makes a difference.

smith-22
horford-21

Great move for Atlanta. They will improve there is no question about it. They will not be better than us as far as record goes but we will have major problems playing them head to head due to matchup issues.

We already have problems playing them head to head.

I think the trade is good for both sides. Kings get young talent and get rid of Bibby's contract, Hawks get a veteran pg who can still play.
If this trade goes through, I think it increases the chances of Artest being traded.

With all of this movement, and all of these teams improving... Orlando needs to do something.
This year seems as if everyone is selling cheap..
Memphis- Mike Miller and Lowry, Pau already gone.
Sacto- Bibby, maybe Artest and the dark horse to be traded, Miller.
Nets- Kidd and VC
Knicks- Z-bo and Curry
it seems as if a good amount of expirings can get you a very good ball player.

i have to agree, and especially with our inability to go out and spend money on free agents(cap space), i think we should look into trading these why we have them

I think this trade is bad for the Kings. Sheldon Williams and Salim Stoudamire as the key pieces??? Surely they can do better than that.

haven't you guys realize? its the "everyone is getting better than the magic right".
this move is true, puts the hawks overtop the magic IMO. They would be a scary, scary team to play in the playoffs. its amazing everyone is getting better except for the magic, almost comical.
Stod and shelton williams are terrible. williams is the biggest bust, darko esque. i hope smith is waiting for something to happen, otherwise he's seriously going to have a lot of questions to answer... he might be treading water as far as his job goes. this is just unacceptable. but thats ok, jameer will lead the way. thats what he's paid to do, right?

Oak I know you don't like Jameer, or JJ...But right now neither are our problem... We NEED a Power foward or a decent backup center....And to clean up the SG glut before we even worry about out PG situation.

i really dont care what orlando decides to upgrade. they just need to make themselves better. obviously, i want miller, but i dont think philly i sready to move guys with their resurgence. they just need to make themselves better like everyone else is.

Atlanta this year is were Orlando was last year. They simply need to learn to win. A veteran PG should basically be enough to punch a playoff ticket. And that's a pretty good season for a club many predicted would finish below Charlotte.
