Birthday Cake Dunk?!?!?! Rate It

Post#1 » by mrtcsm » Mon Feb 18, 2008 6:44 pm

Skip Bayless was just commenting on the Slam Dunk Competition in ESPN First Take and for him the best dunk of the night was the Birthday Cake Dunk, which for me was a complete stupidity since MANY high flyers can do that in combination with a HUGE dunk. Lets say, IMO Dwight "Superman" Howard can also blow out a candle of a cup cake at the top of the rim while attempting this dunk:

What u Say??? Rate the Birthday Cake Dunk... is it really THAT good?!?!?!

10. It WAS sweet. He was robbed but the rest of his dunks were weak.

i would have probably given it a 50...it was deserved i think...i thought it was very corny, but at the same time original the only problem was the ease of the dunk itself...still it probably deserved a 50...

He isn't going to put anyone out playing horse with that one. I'm sure most guys in a dunk contest can do that, but it was still pretty creative. I liked it more on slow motion as you saw his lips pucker to blow out the candle. It was pretty entertaining. I'm voting an 8 based on creativity, not based on skill.

^ good way to look at it darius... it is the same way i feel ... blowing out the candle was awesome but the dunk was just too easy if were to windmill or some variation of a dunk after blowing it out it woulda been a 50.... but the way he pulled it off its a 9
Summertime and the livin's easy....

It was a pretty good dunk, but Skip Bayless is a goddamn moron. I can't stand even looking at that **** face.

It was cute, but if Dwight had done it he would have blown out the candle on the way up and grabbed a bite of cupcake on the way down. :D

I'd give it either an 8 or a 9.

It was pretty cool, and original. I liked it.

I woulda have given it a 47 or 48, it was better than Moon's 45, but not really close to Dwight's dunk that had just happened.

It was creative, but a dumb idea. I'd say a 9.

Dunk 8
Creativity 10

Score 9

Very fair evaluation. That dunk was probably the 2nd or 3rd best one. Honestly i think Dwights first one (the iggy dunk) and his third (the tip to himself) were the best dunks of the night

It was definately in the running for the 4th best dunk of the night, and the best non Dwight dunk...

I also liked Gay's 2nd dunk, and Green's 3rd dunk.

As far as creativity goes a 50, but the dunk was so lame it deserves 40 max, so all in all sum it up divide by 2 he got what he deserved. I really don't think it was deserving of 50, Maybe 48 max. Dwight's dunks were not only creative, they were also beautiful and had style.

I kinda liked Moon's first dunk a lot, probably my favorite non-dwight dunk, closely followed by Green's behind the legs.
