New Outlook on Nelson
I know that I have publicly said that I want Nelson out of Orlando, but seeing him with Dwight at the Dunk contest I see how good of friends he and Dwight are. And believe it or not I think it would be pretty cool for these two guys who were drafted toghether play alongside each other for the rest of their careers.
I still think Nelson is a bench player but he and Dwight always are proud to represent blue and black so I would like them both here for the rest of their careers(especially Superman)
oh yeah and we gotta come up wit a nickname for nelson after all he did feed dwight the superman dunk.

He sucks!!!!!!!!!! He is the Dennis Scott to Shaq, is the ONLY reason why he got that contract, 5 years from now we will still debating here, the need for a real PG; him and Arroyo, they both sucks....BoricuaBoi wrote:I know that I have publicly said that I want Nelson out of Orlando, but seeing him with Dwight at the Dunk contest I see how good of friends he and Dwight are. friendships are great.. but its still a business... we dealt mike miller (TMACs buddy) Mobley (Francis' buddy)..... all to make the team better.. not saying that those trades made the team better (doug christie, wtf).. but nonetheless i think if otis thought meer wasnt worth it he wouldnt have been extended.

Jameer has a great future. He just needs to figure out balance. He can be selfless and just pass, which makes him less effective, or he can be selfish and an unstoppable scorer (unless the other team has a really good shot blocker...). If he can find a mix of the 2, he can excel. Defensively, he used to be a pest, a la darrel. Dunno what changed, I still see it every now and then. Big guards like Billups and Baron will always dominate him, but that is why they are superstars. Superstars can dominate.

I am fine with Nelson until he decides to play 1 on 5 & just jack up shots! and I just don't care for Arroyo @ all! I don't know whether to be nervous or worried about our next two games against Detroit & Toronto

i'm glad people are willing to sacrifice winning games, playoff games, and championships for the betterment of the friendship between two adults. Considering I've never heard anything like this in my life, i've come to the conclusion that people are confusion and nba team with a JR high girls high school basketball team.

I think we're just going to have to wait to see what Jameer's role will be long term. For those of you complaining about how his contract makes him the starting PG forever, I beg to differ. If it works out, the Magic got a good bargain. If it doesn't, well he's not paid like a starting point guard who is not on a rookie deal for most teams. And there might be a role for him other than starting point guard. Look at the contracts of starting point guards throughout the league:
These are the starting point guards for the vast majority of their teams. I have used this season's salaries, and they almost all go up. Jameer doesn't get his raise until next season that brings him to $5.5 mil.
1. Bibby, Atl., $13.5 mil.
2. Hinrich, Chi., $11 mil.
3. Hughes, Cle., $12 mil.
4. Dallas, depending upon how you look at it -- Harris, $7.8 mil or Kidd, $20 mil.
5. Iverson, Denver, $20 mil.
(If you consider Iverson the shooting guard, then I'll list Denver in another category later.)
6. Billups, Det., $10 mil.
7. Davis, G.S., $16.4 mil.
8. Mo Williams, $7.75 mil.
9. Nets, see Dallas -- either $7.8 mil or $20 mil.
10. Marbury, N.Y., $20 mil.
11. Miller, Phil., $9.4 mil.
12. Nash, Pho., $11.375 mil.
13. Parker, S.A., $10.5 mil.
14. Ford, Tor., $8 mil.
15. Arenas, Wash. $11.946 mil.
These players are on rookie contracts, and most likely will get big raises (may max contracts) as soon as eligible or get traded for a different PG (in the next year or so):
1. Rondo, Bos $1.372 mil
2. Randy Foye, Minn. $2.63 mil
3. Chris Paul, N.O. $3.62 mil.
4. Deron Williams, Utah, $4.01 mil
5. Raymond Felton, Char. $3.274 mil.
6. Mike Conley, Memphis, $3.37 mil.
These are the others, most of whom wouldn't be a surprise to be moved from their team at any time:
1. Denver -- if you don't believe Iverson is their PG, has no starting point guard and are looking desperately for one. They are paying an injured Chucky Atkins $3 mil. and Anthony Carter $1.03 mil., but they don't trust him for the whole season.
2. Alston, Rockets, $4.5 mil.
3. Tinsley, Pacers, $6.5 mil. (Pacers want him gone because he can't stay healthy)
4. Cassell, Clippers, $6.15 mil. Already has made his money and is 38.
5. Fisher, Lakers, $4.35 mil. but already has completed Lakers deal that paid him about $8 mil.-$9 mil per season.
6. J.Will, Heat, $8.9 million and at the end of second big-money contract
7. Blake, Portland, $4.25 million
8. Udrih, Sac., $761,544. Was signed on a one-year lark and was playing backup to Bibby's $13.5 million salary until the trade. Will get a raise next season.
9. Ridnour, Seattle, $6.5 mil.
