carter on his way out of jersey

Post#1 » by NEM » Wed Feb 20, 2008 3:25 am

they're blowing up their roster apparently and if we could get him on the cheap id take a look and at least consider the trade...yeah it would kill us salary-wise but it could make us into instant contenders...food for thought

Works for me, but apparently everyone else here cannot stand Carter.

No because we already have all the scoring power we need. We don't even run that much yet we still score 104ppg. What we need is more rebounding.

I'd rather go for jefferson than carter (but neither really make any sense).

No way, absolutely no way, the Nets are giving up that package for just expirings and a very low 1st lol...

I still don't agree with Magic fans and I realize that you guys know your team better than I do, but I know for a fact that Kobe couldn't have switched onto Turkoglu in the final minutes of our last game if you had a SG that actually scared me.

Vince plays when his team is a winner. He's a better defender than given credit for and is an extremely dangerous offensive threat in the playoffs.

I think you need both a big man and a player like Carter.

Carter, Boone

for

expirings, 2 1sts is not out of the realm of possibilities

It basically gives New Jersey a better pick, cap room to sign a player like Igoudala to a 14m a year deal, and 2 1sts. Boone is irrelevant if Sean Williams and Kristic are there.

To Orlando this is a major coup, adding yet another offensive threat while improving the frontcourt with a young energy guy for very little is a great move.

This does put the Magic in an interesting/intriguing position. Now if they can get a package of Carter + Diop(imagine him next to Dwight:O) for Battie + Expirings + Picks/Fran then they also get themselves a contingency plan if Hedo opts out in 2009.

Diop
Dwight
Rashard
Carter
Nelson/Arroyo

would be down right scary.

If the Nets trade Carter on top of Kidd, they may fail to fill 20% or more of their seats for the rest of the season.

The sad thing is that the Nets are still favored to make the playoffs.

Ummmm no you wouldn't...

Dwight is not soft, Rashard may be, Turkoglu isn't really soft, Carter is but not as much as you would think, and since when is Jameer soft?

By the way I wouldn't call the reigning champions the toughest bunch of SOBs to ever play the game either
