Am I the only one who thinks he is the worst sports writer on staff at the Sentinel now that Jemale Hill is gone?

His blog entries are rambling and often times completely wrong. In today's post, he claims that the Magic will win the Southeast now that the division has lost Shaq and Jason Kidd. Hate to break it you, Brian, but the Nets are in the Atlantic division, not the Southeast.

His posts are full of spelling errors and typos and other things that just make the Sentinel look bad, as if they need any help with that. Doesn't anyone proof this crap before they publish it on their web site for all to see?

The paper needs to wise up and can this guy.

WOW thats a huge error, but I've seen alot of basketball writers now just fit "facts" to suit their articles, constantly seeing errors or overlooks.

But thats a pretty bad one.

I dont rate most of the O-Sent staff anyway, at least in terms of articles.

he's the worst...he hates the Magic so much...he treat's his Magic articles like political writers treat their slander columns...like he has an agenda against the Magic...i spoke with him inadvertently a few times, and i have overheard him speaking, not to mention what he does on Midnight Magic, he has less than zero basketball knowledge...so he's useless...

Agreed. This is just a clear example of how much nonsense comes from so many of the media outlets these days. :nonono:

I actually like the guy. I don't think he hates the magic. He really would'nt have a job without them, but I think the Sentinel had to much negative coverage in terms of the new arena and some other things in the past, so I think the Magic have cut them off in terms of inside information. It seems they have purposely lifted Denton in that reagrd.

I think Brian Schmitz is a burn out.

Believe it or not, he has actually improved from when he first took the role of beat writer.

That being said, he is far from insightful.

Denton beats him on almost everything.

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

Schmitz writes a lot of still during and after Magic games so there will be errors.
No one can be worse than J-Hill and Schmitz is really not that bad.

Mike Bianchi is the worst by far - by far - he makes Schmitz look brilliant. Seriously, Mike Bianchi is an idiot.

I am ok with Schmitz, but I know many don't like him - I think I think Bianchi is 10 times the idiot that you think Schmitz is.

Bianchi does have his brilliant moments though, and that's why some people would put him ahead of Schmitz (like me).

They are both garbage, the only reason they have written anything positive about the magic this year was because they are winning. They would never had said we have a chance in hel of doing this god ever. lets not forget, they thought it was a stupid decision to fire brian hill.

No I used to really dislike the guy but he looked at me with them puppy dog eyes and I could'nt hate on the guy anymore. He is kind of like the elephant man. You can't hate someone so grotesque, because you have to have compassion for thier infirmity. lol
