What are Otis' plans?

So the top 4 teams in the west (which to me is more or less the top 4 in the league.. excluding boston and det)

Mavs- Get J Kidd
Lakers- Get P. Gasol
Suns-Get Shaq
Spurs-Get K Thomas

So lets look at this... Some of the best teams in the league are making deals to get better. Why wouldnt we? I dont think were going to do anything tomorrow which is fine. But i really hope that Otis doesnt think that the players we have now could ever win a championship.

Whats his plan going to be for the next couple years?

Otis' plan was never to win a title this year. Too many people forget that now that we are winning. Look at our teams age versus that of Detroit or Boston. Then think about how the East will look in 2 years or so. So, Otis' plan is to not ruin our future for a quick fix.

Well it'd be (Please Use More Appropriate Word) to think that Otis has no future plans set. He's obviously not going to sit on this team for the next couple years. Players will be traded, let go, drafted, etc. We'll see what happens.

Personally I think we WILL make a move tomorrow. Otis has always been so secret about his moves, so it's no surprise it's kind of quiet, but there are rumors circulating of possible deals.

However, I this Otis is smarter than people give him credit for. He's not going to go out and do a deal for the sake of doing one. He's not going to pull the trigger because us fans want to see a deal after watching other teams make a deal. We're on track to win 50 games and have the #3 seed in the East. Remember, this is still the first year with Rashard and SVG, new system, new players.

Otis is patient, he's not going to rush his decisions. I think he knows what he's doing.

I was not expecting us to win a championship this year. however i dont see how we can win with what we have. Turk,Lew,D12.. yes.. but something will need to be done. Remember when we went to the finals in 95... we were young with a couple of vets... i think winning in the next couple years is definitely possible

well from the stats i just looked at after tonights game, WE NEED DEFENSE, even if we have to sacrifice Hedo. Honestly, i don't think we'll get out of the first round this year w/out a trade. D wins championships, that is true in any sport. We need another rebounder and defensive presence other than Dwight. i don't wanna part with hedo this year esp, but we might have to.

if he leaves the exprirings on the table, which has shown to be VERY valuable this year... he should be gone.

otis has done nothing besides draft dwight and get lewis. He is a bad gm.

I would like to think he has a plan, but if I am honest I think Otis' plan is "grab a burger and a shake, hit the hay and get some quality Z's."

but then the problem is who do u get ? wilcox?? Vince (yuck)? we need a solid Defensive 2 guard and/or Defensive PF, maybe make hedo come off the bench if possible.

my fault, then he has done nothing. needed to get miller when sixers are sucking. who cares if he overpaid.

if orlando doesn't shoot 60 percent, they are exposed as pretenders.

Simply keeping our core together we will get better. Dwight improves leaps and bounds every year and another year with these guys will help Shard a ton. Not to mention Boston and Detroit will be regressing with age.

You sound like a certain Knicks GM. Who cares if you overpay for marginal overpaid aging vets...what harm could that do? Ask NY or Miami or Milwaukee or Chicago what harm overpaying the wrong player can do to your future.

I beg to differ...Saying another year of playing together will make us much better is just GM lingo

Nelson and Dwight wouldnt have been playing together for years and i dont see the benefits.

Its just false hope to say our improvements and players playing together longer will make us better.
