After watching Bosh killing us outside I'd really favor a Turk and expirings for Kirilenko deal. That would stop Dwight from having to chase the Bosh, Wallace, and Garnetts of the world all over the place.

Of course this would also stop us from being able to score in the 4th quarter. This team is not built in a way that an AK deal makes sense. We do need to find a guy that can do all the things you say, but not at the expense of Turk.

And AK is not the answer either...

The answer is a guy like Haslem or Brad Miller. They will come in and do dirty work. But, guys like that are not easy to aquire. A Brad Miller and Garcia trade would be perfect, now how do we get one done without Turk? That is the question.

It is not that simple. If you get Miller, you will not be able to use the MLE due to the luxary tax. Meaning the only way to improve the team after this deadline deal would be a draft pick in the mid 20's. So, you better be positive this team is a fnished product with Miller added, because it handties us for a good while considering the 21 million we would be adding. This is why the Magic want Garcia included, because they know that we almost have to be positive this deal makes us a finished project.

I don't follow you. I thought the MLE was extended to all teams over the cap, which we're poised to be for centuries to come, especially if we add Miller's $10Mil contract...

I'm saying the Miller deal will put us over the luxuy tax, so adding an MLE will cost us double due to the luxuary tax. It is not likely the Magic going to be willing to go that far over the cap, and I am not sure we want them to. I think Otis knows this and it is why he won't do Miller for expirings without some other incentive from Sacto.

It'll be a joke if Otis doesn't make a move. 17 million worth of expiring contracts and he stays put? What a joke that would be.

And I want to buy a Porsche, but only at a 1/4 of the sticker price.

You want something of value, 99% of the time you've got to give up something of value.

Good point... to get brad miller and garcia i would get rid of turk.. miller and dwight would be the best front court in the east.. one of the best in the league... garcia fits nicely at the 2. i still think we do nothing today... i guess well see in 5 hours..

I do not believe that that is true cammo. If we give 12 mil in expirings for Miller and Garcia we are only taking on 12 mil (roughly) back. We are over the cap right now and as such we can not take more salary in a trade than we give out. With Miller and Garcia we would be 2 mil over the cap next year with the 5.5 MLE to play with. The luxury tax starts at approximately 70 mil and with the MLE and 2 vet mins we would then be at close to 69 mil. we may also qualify for the Bi-annual excemption this year which would then put us close to the tax.
