Interested in a Trade With Minnesota?

Post#1 » by Rod700 » Thu Feb 21, 2008 3:46 pm

Hawks fan here. I have no stake in this trade one way are the other, I'm just curious. I know you are looking to bring in a power forward and I hear you may be interested in a shooting guard as well. Since Walker and Green seem to want out of Minnesota (see link), I was wondering if you guys are considering them as a trade option.

http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archi ... for_trade/

You could use Garrity and Dooling's expiring contracts + fillers (or JJ). You could also of course include pick(s) (especially if you don't include JJ).
I know Antione Walker isn't exactly the bruiser you are looking to play next to Howard, and he steps out to attempt the three too much, but I just wondered if there were any rumors or interest in the Timberwolves.

I probably would say hell no to that deal. Antoine Walker isn't what we need and neither is Gerald Green with his .24 IQ. No dice.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

Definitely no to Walker. We have enough shooters who can't defend on the team, thanks. And in that article, his agent says Walker is in the prime of career. HA!

I consider Riley a genius for getting rid of the contracts of both Walker and Shaq. No way I want to see Walker in a Magic's uniform.

No prob. I never "proposed" the trade at all. I simply asked if you guys were looking at doing something along these lines with Minnesota. I would hope not since Walker is too old and his contract his too big. But then again you see what the Spurs are parting with for Kurt Thomas, and you see how cheaply the Hawks got Bibby. Crazy things happen this time of year.

I never proposed it. I just wanted to see if you guys were that desperate for a powerforward to take on a bad contract. Crazy trades do happen this time of year. (See post above . . . if you even bother reading posts all the way through prorl)

No way to walker, that guy is dead weight.

That said, walker is the type of player otis smith would target, so its probly not out of the question

Thanks man, that's the input I was looking for. Although it's clearly not a good trade, I was just wondering if it's one that might go through anyway.

LOL explain to me why Otis would target a Walker type right now? We have several fowards that are shooters, we dont need another one. Otis himself said a week or 2 ago that he would like to add another big rebounder/defender.
