If Wilcox is available

Post#1 » by knappy » Thu Feb 21, 2008 7:14 pm

Why not give up Arroyo, Garrity and a 1st rounder - what are we really giving up - a late first round pick for Wilcox - if we are going to compete this season we should do it.

Otis I think they will go for this - pull the trigger if the above is what it takes

or exhange JJ for the 1st rounder - if you aren't going to play JJ then lets trade him - if you are going to play him then we could see what we have with JJ

Hell if it's really that big of a deal, give them JJ and a 1st. Again, only really giving up a 1st.

If he does nothing again - I am going to start losing faith in Otis - I have been giving him the benefit of the doubt, but half the guys with expiring contracts at least will not be here next year - probably more

get something for an asset now before it is no longer an asset - Otis stop giving things away by not taking action

Do you have any idea of what Otis is offering for Wilcox? Is he staying pat on Pat and Carlos and nothing else? That won't get it done

i dont know anything about specific players going in or out, but i know that Otis talked with the Blazers over the last 2 days and there was a deal being talked about but Otis refused to give up Redick/Dooling or the 1st rounder that they wanted...the package Otis is peddling is expirings and at least one other player, which is presumed to be Bogans...and no one is biting, not for anything of any use that wouldn't basically give us the same in return or might force the Magic to take on too much $...

Honestly, if Otis is so reluctant with parting with a SG that can't play more than 2 minutes in blowouts and a combo guard that might be lost in the offseason for nothing, instead of getting a big guy that can rebound he's just being stupid.

And I've been a JJ homer since his draft asking for him to get minutes. But he can't and I see absolutely no reason why it would change in the near future.

If it's true, it will be the first time that Otis would really deceive me. How can he "like" this team as it is?

I know it has to make sense financially but c'mon with all our expirings we should get someone. I don't remember a year where there were so many teams looking to rebuild.

We can't signe someone else for the next 5 years except for the MLE, so it's our last chance to get a good player for "nothing". A PF or a SG

I would be good with that move - make it a first rounder - would the deal get done? We are going to get a late first round pick or include JJ - will Otis budge - stupid not to move some expiring contracts

Agreed, absolutely assinine if he won't trade JJ to get that deal done. I would like to see JJ play, but the Magic won't play him - so get us a PF and use JJ if he is the necessary piece to get it done. I'd rather give up a late first round pick to get the deal done and give JJ some backup minutes.
