Well I say this makes it official that nothing is going to go down. Oh well. Fire Otis!
"You have to ask yourself, `is there something out there that could make us better?' The answer was no,'' said Magic General Manager Otis Smith. "So I'm not disappointed at all. I like what we have right now.''

On a side note guys, I know we like to make the "I like our team." joke (and it's equivalents) a lot, but remember that Otis isn't going to come out and say something like "yeah, I was trying to trade so-and-so, but it just didn't work out."
He's smart to be as vague as possible. As fans, we want info, but as a GM, he doesn't want to show his cards, nor does he want to put stress or doubts in the minds of any of his players.

as soon as i heard that he wouldnt make a deal unless he got a power foward and a shooting guard in the same deal and refused to give up JJ, Dooling or the 1st rounder to accomplish the deal, i knew it was over...

That's why I didn't bold the "I like our team" bit. What amazes me is that he has tells the Magic fans that there wasn't out there nothing that would make this team better.
Even with 13+ millions on expirings and most of them from players that are not by any means central pieces of the roster.

"is there something out there that could make us better".... lol...are the expirings really gonna hurt us, since most of them dont even play right now..

It's got to be the most frustrated I've ever been in my life right now. How can EVERYONE, even people who don't even follow anything to do with the Magic, see we need a four and a two but Otis can't?!?!
I'd love to hear his rationale behind wimping out of seperate deals for a tough power forward & shooting guard who can play D and put up around 10-15ppg and playing the lazy GM and wanting both in one deal. An upgrade at the starting point guard position is a pipe-dream. There is no reason for this franchise to be high on Jameer, but they are. Again, maybe Otis sees something we don't.
Another off-season of below-average performances then? I just don't see this group of players carrying enough intensity or heart for a serious playoff run. I'd love to be proved wrong on everything I've just written but I cannot see it happening.

The fans in Orlando should show up at the next games with "I love what we have" signs all over the Arena.
No kidding.

Can we trade expirings on Draft day, or are they considered not part of our team by then?

Most of the major deals around the league were done prior to Thursday. Shaquille O'Neal went from Miami to Phoenix, who sent back Shawn Marion and and . Pau Gasol went from Memphis to the Los Angeles Lakers. Jason Kidd went from New Jersey to Dallas earlier this week. Sacramento sent Andre Miller to Philadelphia.
OMG i cant believe this guy is SO BAD, that trade never happened!! lol
this guy is such a joke, how to you put some garbage like that in your article, wth?

Are Adonal and Bogans contracts player options or team options?
This makes a huge difference.. I pray to God Bogans opts out.
