i'm high on the guy...i've been a fan of his since early on in his first stint with Indy...

it would appear, at least based on what you read, that Nellie is fed up with Harrington, and typically, what Nellie says goes...

Whatever momentum we had, [Harrington] always seemed to be there to miss a shot or make a turnover or a foul or something
- Nelson said after their loss to to Atlanta...

Nelson
Turk
Lewis
Harrington
Howard

sign me up...

and shockingly enough, apparently that whole Chris Webber thing really aint working out...i'm totally shocked...

So they want more Biedrins?
Harrington would be an ok fit (not better than say a Wilcox or Haslem), but his price tag is going to be pricy and we'd have to do an S & T.

Harrington isnt a great rebounder, but he brings some grit to the front court. Haslem would be a much better fit because of his offensive rebounding, his JYD mentality and his youth. Wilcox, I was never sold on, but he's obviously an upgrade with his strength and his rebounding...the thing to keep in mind is that Harrington can, and will draw the defense away because he has a respectable shot...He is also pretty good around the basket, has a decent post up game and is pretty strong...

I don't like him shooting all those 3s, plus he looks like a major pain in the a** in the locker room.

the locker room thing, idk about, i know there were a lot of issues in Indy, but, it's hard to single out a guy form that Indy team...if it's true than forget it...

as for the 3's, c'mon, SVG hasn't seen a 3 shot he didnt like all year...this team is formulated on chucking 3's...

however, he is one of those guys that when he is off from the 3, he's way off...so I agree there...a lot of guys go into slumps, but he just has that way, if he misses 2 or 3, he's done and we all know it, but he doesn't, i've played with guys like him that try to shoot themselves out of it, but it rarely works...

I'd love him here...people say he is a bad presence in the locker room, But I have never heard much of it...

He would be a GREAT addition to this team..His 3 point threat is there, he is not a bad defender, and can rebound decently well..Not to mention not a bad ball handler...

I have wanted him here since the day I heard he was on the outs a few months back....He and Pietrus were ripe for the taking at deadline....and I am VERY siprised there wasn't a deal such as.

Arroyo
Bogans
Pat
Filler
Pick

For

Harrington
Pietrus

Nelson/Dooling
Hedo/Pietrus/JJ
Lewis/Evans
Harrington/Cook/Auggie
Dwight/Foyle/Gortat

But , what ever

The Pacers made it sound at the time like they traded Harrington because he and O'Neal both needed to play in the post and they got in each other's way. But maybe they were just trying to be nice.

Golden State is, I think, going to have some hard decisions to make this summer because they have a lot of high salaries on this team -- they have $47 million-plus on the books for only six players next season -- and one of them is Foyle. And Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins are in need of contract extensions and also could command some big bucks. Maybe they are willing to pay whatever it takes, though.

Isn't Al Harrington just like Rashard Lewis.

We don't need another player like Harrington. Sure he is a big body, but he isn't the ferocious banger we need at power forward. Maybe I'm focusing on his days with the Hawks too much, but I just don't love his game.

Harrington and Rashard aren't that similar really...Harrington is a bigger presence down low and he bodies up a lot more than Lewis...He has the potential to rebound well because he usually gets good position, but his rebounding hasn't really been like it was back in ATL and Indy...IDK he's a strong guy...

he wont end up here...I was making conversation...but i think he'd fit in well with out system...

They're very similiar: both like to shoot threes and stay away from the paint unless they're on fastbreaks or against smaller players. Both play suspect D and have long stretches of invisibility on the court.

LOL that's the same exact words I was gonna post here :)

I've never seen Al bang inside that much but if you're saying so, I'll accept that somehow.

he's not a rugged guy down low, but he takes the body more than Lewis does...and he usually holds his ground pretty well...this year has been somewhat of an anomaly for him, normally he's more in tune...the thing I like about Harrington is that he doesn't need to be an option to succeed...

Al is about 10x the post player Lewis is.

Harrington is probably my top halfway realistic guy to add to the roster (and I've done so in video games, heh) besides Haslem.

Harrington is a reasonably good rebounder, a pretty good shooter (i.e. will still draw people away from Dwight), but is also a good option in the post against other PF's unlike Shard.

If Hedo could slide to the 2-guard spot effectively, we'd have to have some of the tallest shooters in the league in Harrington-Lewis-Hedo in the SL, dayum.

Agree .... we are already going to be flirting with the LUXTAX and we will have no one to S&T. As of our last game this season we will only have 10 contracts.

Howard, Gortat (team option), Foyle (player option), Nelson, Lewis, JJ, Bogans, Hedo, Battie and Cook (not including Fran)

As interesting as it seems, the likelihood of Al ending up in Orlando is slim. We'll end up in a bidding war with Chicago this summer. They've wanted him since his first days in Indiana. Unless we're willing to throw in *picks* for the guy, i'm afraid we'll watch him become the man in Chicago.
