What do you think the odds are of us landing him in FA this season.

We would have the MLE to offer him. Is he worth it? I would say yes. Question is, will he get more from the Raptors?

IF we did get him, would we still be able to sign Dooling and Evans?

Our roster would look Nasty!!

Dwight/Foyle/Gortat
Battie/Cook/Fran or Draft
Lewis/Evans
Hedo/JJ/Bogans
Nelson/Calderon/Dooling.

Would it work?

slim...

Jose is a starter, why would he want to come here if but to play second fiddle to Nelson? the only hope I think you have of him leaving Toronto would be to go to a team where he could be #1 in that spot...I see the Raps moving Ford before they lose Jose, if it comes down to that...

hahahahahahahahahahaha! You really think the MLE is going to land Calderon?

The guy is going to get 9-10 mil per, easily. He's averaging 13 pts and 9 assists, shooting over 50% from the field and over 40% from 3-point land, not to mention under 2 TOPG.

I'd start Calderon over Nelson every single day of the week.

I've really grown to dislike Jameer as this team's starting point guard recently. Especially when Arroyo comes in and has a solid night like last night. Calderon would be a big upgrade for this team.

if you are going to bring in a guy like Jose (more than the MLE obviously), Nelson is either going to have to understand and agree to being the bench guy, or you're going to have to move him and bring in a quality bench guy...Otis and Dwight both love Jameer...Jameer doesn't like being th bench guy...

good luck...

Jameer Nelson is not a starter in this league IMO.

Horrible defender, not good at setting up teammates, inconsistent scorer.....

He may be considered a leader, but true leaders lead with their actions first and words second.

I'm hoping that Dwight will come to realize this too with time, after a few more Olympic summers and Allstar games, thereby getting rid of Jameer's untouchable/unquestionable starter status.

I would love for the Magic to hold on to him though in a scoring spark off the bench kind of role.

Jose can have a broken arm or leg and he's start at PG every time.

There's a very small chance that Calderon comes here unless we do a sign and trade to free up money to give him at least $7 million a year.

Imagine if didnt sign Jameer to the extension.

We could've had Calderon and another free agent with the MLE.

They still wouldn't be far enough under the cap to offer more than the MLE to Calderon. And I don't think MLE is going to be enough for Calderon. Someone will pay him more than that if the Raps don't.

JoseCalderon may choose to stay with the Raps (since they're the most euro-team out there) for less money but no, he won't take the MLE from other teams. And he's already a starter in this league, and a lot better than Nelson in so many ways it's not even funny.

If they didn't pay Rashard so much and didn't extend Jameer then Jose could be a real possibility.

Plus the Raptors have a huge upside. Why would he leave a winning situation?

i wouldn't even want to imagine the Tmac/Miller style backlash if Dwight and Jameer were separated.

the only way Jose is coming here is if his heart is set on it. unfortunately, i haven't seen any such sign.

1) Reports say Calderon likes it there cuz of Garbajosa.. but is unhappy the way the raps handled his situation with his injury

2) He's not a starter in Toronto, and he has said he's fine splitting the role with TJ Ford.. So he'd probably be fine with it here too, thats IF he didnt start. Van gundy has enough balls not to start Nelson.

3) Orlando has just as much upside if not more than Toronto.
