Here's hopin they buy him out this summer after a failed playoff run and then we sign him..... Dwight and Shaq = Nasty....
Not as far fetched as it sounds either...

Shaq as part-owner > Shaq as player.

yea no kidding...but they wont buy him out, that will be a sexy expiring contract for the Suns...there is a nice class of free agents in 2010...

At this point they might be lucky to make to the playoffs....they are playing some really bad basketball

They have a great coach...great players...great system...but every year they leave me scratching my head.

Shaq has gotten so fat that there are a lot of things he doesn't fit anymore, Phoenix being just one of them. Miami did the right thing in moving his contract.

Shaq looks to be in pretty good shape right now considering age...

I suppose, but he's looking pretty lethargic to me, and can't run on a run and gun team. His multiple championships have him too satiated, and he doesn't seem to have the drive anymore.

One would figure that he'd want to prove all the doubters wrong, otherwise people will have a semi-washed out version of Shaq as their last memory of him playing.

Unfortunately, that didn't stop Jordan.
I think the trade was absolutely horrible for PHX but I don't have much sympathy given them. This will also save Riley's reputation some b/c Shaq's extension was terrible, but it was emporer's new clothes NBA style: nobody wanted to tell Shaq he wasn't that good anymore.

Well, he did get 18 rebounds last night. Still, the experiment so far has certainly not worked. However, I think Shaq's presence mandates a significant transition and it is to be expected to take some time for the new squad to gel. Its not like they were favorites to make it to the Finals with Marion instead of Shaq. My sense is that they will end up being a marginally better playoff team with Shaq but I still don't see them taking down San Antonio or the Lake Show.

I think Shaq is doing great. Going to the Suns in the twilight of his career will solidify his legacy and we will all remember his greatness at the end of his career.
Signed
Karl Malone (the Laker)
&
Patrick Ewing (the Magic man)

How could anyone say they dont want Shaq in Orlando next year. Would you rather stick with Foyle backup up Dwight? Shaq off the bench for 15-20 minutes a night would absolutely rule... Plus him and Dwight would have some fun dance-offs. Great comedy duo

not to sound rude but did you honestly just now figure this out? and this is a serious question

Do you think that Shaq, aka the Big Egotistical, would want to be anyone's backup?

I'd give PHX a bit more time before judging the failure of Shaq.

Would it be the failure of Shaq or just a bad fit? Unless that's what you implied.

Shaq hasnt been playing *THAT* bad, Nash has turned everything over and they dont play any D at all still.. so.. they still have to gel of course.
