If you were GM, would you trade Shard after 1 season?

His contract can virtually land us any player in the league. If someone was available and knew you could get by trading shard, would you do it?

Otis: "I am still working on the creative financing. Let me get back to you when I've figured it out"

Last time I checked players land other players not contracts. Shard is not as good as his contract so no you can't get anyone in the league. I won't say he is untradeable but there are alot of teams that just by virtue of the contract will hang up the phone laughing. Never fear Isiaih is still in the league.

Yeah, that's why Keith Van Horn was traded in order to get Kidd. The Nets clearly wanted to services of Keith Van Horn. And Kwame 'is not as good as his contract' but it was good enough to land Pau Gasol. I'm sure the Lakers didn't think they could land anyone.

When Rashard's contract is expiring we will be able to land just about any available player with it...until then he is pretty much worthless on the trade market.

Keith Van Horn wasn't signed to a max contract when shipped to NJ
Neither was Kwame...

Even if Otis secretly wanted to get rid of Lewis, do you think he would do it? No, he's not going anywhere. We will run a two sf offense if we have to, but there is no need or will to trade Lewis. There are no attitude issues, or rumors of anyone being unhappy. The only redundant question is if Lewis is playing to the level of his contract, asked and answered repeatedly. But hey, there's always Marbury's expiring contract next year.

I think the better question should be would you trade shard if anyone wanted him. Who is gonna take on that behemoth contract while giving up someone of equal or greater talent? What, we're gonna trade Kobe for Rashard? doubt it. You might as well just go get the Lewis throwback cuz he isn't going anywhere

People want bad contracts when they are going to expire. No one in their right mind wants one of the biggest contracts in the league with 6 years left on it.

Lewis stays, Hedo stays, Howard stays.
Anyone else is game.

Why do people insist on making these (Please Use More Appropriate Word) threads? This team is on a sick roll and all anyone wants to talk about is breaking up our core. No, just no.

No Houston is on a sick roll. We just beat a few mediocre teams. Who would take Rashard. You would have to take on some serious bad contracts to make that happen.

I would trade him.....if the deal clearly improved our team and made sense in the right areas.
But that scenario is highly unlikely to present itself.

Rashard was always intended to excel in the next season. THis was a practice season to match his game to Howard's.
He will not be traded.

Now all the sudden Hedo is more valuable than Shard? Eh, Eh. The reason Hedo is doing so well is because Shard is here. If anyone has noticed they're point production isn't that far off from each other.
Hedo benefited from Rashard Lewis playing the PF spot, allowing Hedo to play the point forward. That's why Hedo's number's are up, and a lot of you hacks think Shard is a bust. Rashard is still the 2nd most important player on this team, we all need to remember that.
Rashard has stepped back and let Hedo and Dwight do the most recognizable media damage as far as stats, but without Rashard Lewis filling in those gaps this team wouldn't be near as good. My bet is Rashard comes in next year and busts out a 23 ppg year.
No way in hell he gets traded....Hedo goes first.

Thats a pretty blanket statement. If a trade were to come up for a good player that could possibly unload Shards contract i'm sure he'd go before Hedo would especially considering how Hedo has played this year.
