Real GM Mock Draft

21. Kevin Love
Power Forward. UCLA

Love is making an immediate impact on a very good UCLA team, but his future as an NBA player does not live up to the hype of his arrival out of high school. Running the full length of the floor is currently a struggle for Love, as his man consistently beats him to the other side. He will use his wide and strong frame to rebound, but his elevation is very lackluster.

Offensively, he seals off defenders and creates space exceptionally well and makes it a priority to catch the ball close to the bucket, allowing him to take those very high percentage shots. Love is also a brilliant passer and this aspect of his game will be one that separates him from other power forwards.

I'd take him

He doesn't really fit our needs does he? Aren't we looking for a Rebounding/ Shot blocking big? I say we take Devon Hardin if available...

If you're right, you know for sure the Magic will not draft him

Pretty good range and I think he's a really good passer as well. I can see Jameer and Love running the Pick and Pop for years (If they draft him and I don't think they will)

I love his name. So much potential for puns. We should draft him on that basis alone.

more likely for us to draft because of his name rather than talent... i mean look at our last draft picks

Love will be a flop...Like all of the popular PF/C white Americans that come out.

For what it's worth, draftexpress.com has Love going at No. 13 to Phoenix (with a Hawks pick) so the Magic might not even have the opportunity. You're going to see all kinds of variations in these mock drafts until the time gets closer.

Love would be a great fit here. Range out to the 3 point line, solid but not great defender and very good rebounder. DeVon Hardin is way overrated on realgm. He has zero offensive game.

The number of foreign players available will radically change all mock drafts. What one can only do at this early date is think about the type of player the Magic might get. And that will be a practice-squad guy.

Here in Southern California, they... really like... Kevin Love. He's been great with the media and has really carried UCLA. I've found it odd that they talk about him much more than OJ Mayo. I think because Mayo isn't too good of an interview (though he did ask a reporter out on a date the other day!)
