Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade will undergo a procedure on his left knee and is expected to miss the rest of the regular season, according to published reports.

"I think it's time. We've been walking around on eggshells with this thing," Heat coach Pat Riley told reporters. "This treatment will help him."

Wade will undergo a stimulation treatment on Tuesday, according to the Miami Herald.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel said the procedure would keep Wade off the court for 30 days. Miami's season ends April 16.

Wade missed Friday's game against the Golden State Warriors after publicly discussing his sore knee. Wade managed to play against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, but asked Riley to limit his minutes, according to the Herald.

Heading into Monday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers, the Heat are an NBA-worst 11-51 this season.

Is Wade injury prone? This is his second serious surgery in a year and he has only played 102 games combined in the last 2 seasons... Your thought?

Riley's master plan to tank the season. I hope they end up with the 4th pick for tanking. Disgusting.

This just in: everyone attending the next Heat home game gets a free tank top and the last 500 to come will recieve a complementary "Throwing in the" Towel!

The way he plays, it was just a matter of time before he went down 7 times and got up 6.

The Heat have to protect their investment. They are going nowhere this year, so might as well end up with a great pick. Too bad the TWolves couldn't make that "future 1st rounder" this year.

I wonder how serious the surgery is, it could be just something small like cleaning some crap up.

I've never heard of shock treatment on a leg to help that.

I had shock wave done on my ankle in 06 when I snapped it...it seemed to work real well...

Tanking at its finest, don't blame them though.

I don't think Wade is injury prone. Even if he is, at his banged up state, he still plays darn good. This rest should help him big time.

I gotta disagree.

Because of his style and body type, Wade is nearly always banged up.

Down the road, something has got to give......

I hate to say it, but i think so. I mean you see his commercials, fall 7 times, get up 8. Well that becomes a little harder when its "fall 3945 times, get up 3946". He should've stayed out last season and rested, now its killing him. I like Dwayne, i really do, but the heat should have forced him to sit out last year so this didn't happen. Oh well, i feel bad for dwayne, but screw miami, they deserve every thing they get

He can adjust. Later in his career, MJ was still deadly, but he changed his game. I think Wade could do the same thing.
