From Sentinel: Magic doctors not on board with Battie return

If that's true, the team shouldn't let him play. You have to think about the long term. If he gets reinjured, then they will go through this again at least all through next season and he might never get right. And he's under contract for a few more years.

Having Battie this year would be nice, but I also think next year should be the goal. He's not going to help much this season, and the Magic have there playing style intact. We haven't got much money to spend for the next few years so it's better he come back later.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

Having a healthy Battie next year could be huge. The potential of next year is really exciting...as long as we spend WISELY this summer.
Maybe we can actually draft a role player.
Seems so long since we actually drafted a player that we can use

I don't know if it is like this to other fans of the league (other fav teams) but I never look forward to the draft anymore. I thought that was normal until I really thought about it but I bet for a lot of people they see it as them getting another role player to help the team...I see it as us getting another contract that we will either let expire on the bench or trade for cash/2nd round picks.

Battie should not come back...it would be silly. We are not aiming for a title this season, we are aiming for something to build on to get us to title contention next season. We will be able to do that without Tony and then when he is 100% healthy he can come back and hopefully contribute to a trip to the finals.

That's loser talk

I could be wrong but I believe it's actually up to the coaching staff and the doctors...not TB4. Anyways, I don't believe he should play this year and I really doubt SVG will go for it either since he hasn't had a chance to play all year. It wouldn't be good for the team or Battie.

But I don't think that an even healthy Battie makes much difference.
I'd just as soon he wait until next year.

It doesn't we're significantly overrating Battie in the wake of his absence. Him coming back won't add many W notches to the column.
