carl landry, a rookie, is a restricted free agent this offseason. his defense is questionable but he is a good rebounder, has great energy, and a decent jumpshot. he would be a great pickup but we would have to overpay to take him away from houston.

Exactly. My guess is that he might even go for the MLE. He's been a crucial player for the Rockets this season.

I would really want to replace Arroyo or even Dooling with Duhon. And if Diop is willing to play for cheap, I'd like him as well. He's a great big off the bench... but most likely he'll go for at least 3 mil per year...

Other guys I like are Ronny Turiaf and Gomes, but they'll both probably be matched.

With so many SGs available, one can believe that a starter can be found for MLE money.

the max landry can go for is the mle. i am not so sure the rockets would match the mle when they have scola, hayes, yao, and probably deke again. but giving the mle to landry is a big risk because he is somewhat injury prone. turiaf would be a good choice too.

Childress or Diamantidis are the 2 SG's I would go after.

I'd like us to pick up Earl Barron, would add some depth to the bench.

Diamantidis is more a PG than a SG as his weakness is his shot. He's tall, he's fast, he plays great defense, he leads Panathinaikos offense with perfection without chuking shots.

Nelson + Dooling + Diamantidis. They'd complement very well and both Dooling and Diamantidis can play the occasional 2.

He could play SG here next to Nelson. Running the offense as Nelson plays off the ball.

Bah, what do we need West for? And how wouldn't Childress fit here?

You're better than this thief.........

hmm... true. That might even be the solution for Nelson's poor defense, having a big guard that can rotate easilly with him on defensive matchups.

What is Otis waiting, go ask Pana how much is his buyout and offer the guy the MLE.

Nelson is a (very) poorman's Iverson, like Iverson, Nelson would really be a huge benefactor to us getting an Eric Snow type player -- a passing, good defending, tall PG.

i want us to re-sign dooling, evans, and foyle and we can use bogans in a sign and trade...other than that the draft will dictate what we do in free agency
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

I agree. We have needs for an upgrade at PG, SG, and backup big. But, none are so dire we just have to do anything to improve it. So if Collison is on the board we take him, or Weaver, or DJ White, or Oglivy...then we use the MLE to improve in one of the other 2 spots. Personally I would sign Diamantidis, draft Weaver or Collison, and bring over Fran/pray Battie is health. I'd also not be opposed to using Bogans, JJ, or both to get a bigger money player than the MLE.

LOL

... but, last night, Garrity was a key-to-the-game. Not sure that one effort is worth $3M for the season. Anyhow, there you go.

If Childress is within MLE reach I'm all for it. Evans or Bogans or JJ have to go in this case. The true reason we are stuck woith our EXPs is Otis should have Hedo's extention in mind already - there is no way we pay him less than 10-12 mln/year starting from 2009-2010.
In this case I'm afraid we MUST come up with something worthy in the draft which is always a problem with us having low picks.

Childress or JR Smith would be nice for the MLE if either one would take it to come here.
