i just noticed this but we have an identical record to utah, who is number 4 in the west, that's home court in the rugged western conference...cleveland, who is so much better than us, has a worse record than denver who is number 9 as a matter of fact they have a closer record to portland who is 10 and on the verge of being eliminated, than the number 9 nuggets...that and the fact that we beat them by 1 last night should tell everyone that we are the third team in the east, not them...why is everyone paying so much attention to the cavs? lebron? no cause we have dwight...what is it

"the lack of respect has got to stop"

or else .... ?

Besides East != West. There are 9 teams with + .600 records out West, as opposed to 3 in the East. In East we'll probably have a couple of teams with less than .500 in the playoffs, and the West have eliminated 1 with a .600 record.

When we are out of the first round, then we'll have earned it.

Who cares. They don't have to respect Orlando. It doesn't matter.

When Respect=Wins, I'll start caring.

Stop with the respect threads...who cares!?!?!

That stuff comes with sustained winning and championships. Sit back and enjoy this season like the rest of us, this respect thing is stupid.

When we make some serious noise in the playoffs like a Conference Finals appearance or even a 7 games 2nd round series then we'll get that respect. It's a lot easier being the underdogs....lot less pressure on a young team.

I prefer the media disrespecting the Magic. Its another source of motivation. They are doing our team a favor.

1. respect is not everything.
2. respect is not nothing either, though.
3. as long as the zebras keep on making contextual calls, respect might tilt a game between even teams.

There you go.

I don't care what our record against the west is right now, if we played most of our games out west like other west teams do, we'd all be happy with .500 ball.

UCFers use this type of logic to "prove" how they're better than other schools with similar or worse records.

Sorry, we play in a crappy conference, just like they do. Our wins are taken to be less "worthy" than those earned out west.

BTW - Enough with this respect crap, I'm so sick of hearing about it with Howard, Hedo, and now our team in general. Get over the fact that we're finally pulling in one good season after playing like crap for the past decade. You do not gain instant recognition in anything. We're the underdog until we prove we're not in the playoffs. Until then, we do not deserve to be respected as much as some of you want us to be.

I agree with raw though, its just stupid how Orl is overlooked no matter what and even if we do get praise (tim legler did say we might be a contender) they will say it with a smirk on their face like they don't believe it. I mean wasn't that a big game last night? the 3 and 4 teams in the east deciding who is the actual better team. Like i said earlier, if we had lost, you can bet your house all you would see on espn.com and nba.com is how Lebron won the game and Clev is the best yada yada. We win, nothing, not even a peep on the daily dime. Its one thing to be the underdog, its another to be the third best team in ur conference and not even have the media mention you except on their powerrankings. w/e though, i don't mind, as long as we go deep in the playoffs, thats all i want.

I actually don't think there'd be a big deal if the Cavs won, because they're barely .500 since the trades they've made.

Still, CLE gets a chance to beat us again pretty soon...

A second tier team in a second tier conference?

OMG RESPECT US NOW

Yes, everybody talk about the Magic. Please forget about those 5-7 other teams with similar records OUT WEST that don't get much mention either. No, it's all about us us us... x 10

Enough with these threads already. :nonono:

On another note, so often teams have used a perceived disrespect as motivation to excel in the playoffs. To those who keep whining, ever stop to think about that?

We will earn OUR respect, if we win during the playoffs, at least one series, how many years ago, since we won a playoffs series? That is why nobody in the media care about us, and rightfully so, IMHO. Let's win first, and bitch about respect later.

The players care, and their agents care when they try to market them off the court (and that makes the players care even more). And then the teams and their fans start to care if it means they miss out on some players they want to bring to the team or keep on the team.
