anyone ever been here before? it's behind the waterford lakes center on alafaya...it's a bowling/arcade family type of place...my buddies wanted to go watch the NCAA games, and I am a huge Miami fan (alma mater) so I decided to go with them as long as i got to watch Miami, and they assured me I would be able to watch it at this place....

Image

so that's what it looks like outside...I cant even describe the inside, it's got all kinds of stuff. so as i walk in i am passing all of these things they have there and i round the corner to which i look straight ahead, and the entire back wall behind the bowling pins is like 10 giant movie theater size screens showing every game...i was in awe...

there was the Georgetown game, the miami game, the spurs/mavs game, golf, the butler game

i was freakin out...so much to watch...

and on top of that they have plasmas setup all over the place as well...

should definitely check it out if your into these environments...

im not a big bowler, but if your into bowling it's like $18 an hour for up to 6 adults and i guess that's cheap according to my boys, the staff seemed very pleasant, they have a big restaurant and a bar and the place was very clean...

This place sounds cool for the giant movie screens alone. I don't like bowling but if the food and atmosphere is as cool as you say it is, I'll go check it out. Heck, we could have a RealGM party out there!

I work in a Waterford restaurant and I've been in Firkins a few times.. My first time in there I was in awe too, but it quickly went away when our lanes constantly broke and the bar service was horrible.. It was taking like 10 minutes for the bartenders to even acknowledge us and it wasn't even busy. Then they have those things they have to pour the liquor through so it measures out the perfect amount.. really lame.. all my drinks tasted watered down. I'd stick with beer.

All in all it's still a real neat place tho..

Too expensive on the weekends... but week days it's okay. Definitely an interesting place. I'll be there tomorrow night for sure.

i saw that place being built and it looks and sounds awesome. I hadn't realized it had opened. Definitely gonna have to check that place out next weekend, both for bowling and for the games. :P

Man, I thought Boardwalk Bowl was cool. I need to check that place out. As for you guys who don't like bowling...are you sure you're americans?? LOL. I've never heard of anybody who didn't at least think it was a little fun.

i'm 7' tall and old...i look (Please Use More Appropriate Word) bowling...the only thing i can do is throw the ball fast, they show the speed for each throw on the screens and i was bowling at like 27mph while everyone else was like 15-20, so i felt accomplished there...and i had 5 strikes in a row on a set...that was the highlight of my day...because everything else was gutter balls and a few pins here and there...they dont have house balls there for guys with huge fingers...

and bowling is Canadian, so if we dont like bowling, that would make us even more American, because we're supposed to dislike Canadians...duh...

Definitely need to check that place out, bowling is awesome. Seeing more and more bowling alleys in Greece too so it's catching on.

I just liked the restaurant because you can call every item on the menu with a "Firken" in front of it.

Reminds me of the dialog I would have hear during a Beavis 'n Butthead episode.
