OT: Shady activity at local DMV

Alright, so I went to take the driver's test today. No, I'm not only 16 years. Can't say my age on here, but I'm several years older. Go ahead, laugh it up, I've already heard it all. Just never needed a license before now and never really cared. But anyway.

I'm asked what you should do if you're parked uphill. Fine, whatever. I pointed out the steps, no big deal. Didn't actually engage the emergency break. I wasn't going to go through the motions unless asked, because this lady was a real bitch who was already hinting at me that I was proceeding too slowly through this thing. And she seemed satisfied with the answer (as well she should have been, it was all correct). But again, didn't touch the e-brake.

So I pull out, start heading towards the end of the parking lot, and she tells me to stop. She points down and the e-brake is on. Fails me on the spot for driving 50ft with it on.

Obviously, somewhere in between that, she reached down (it's in the center in the car I was driving) and turned it on. I'm nervous and looking at the road, so I had absolutely no idea.

Is she allowed to do that? I would assume not, but I don't know.

I was extremely angry, obviously. Normally I'm not confrontational at all, but I was so mad, I didn't care. I flat out asked her if she had done it. She looked at me like I was accusing her of murder. She snapped at me that she couldn't have done it, they're not allowed to do it, blah blah blah. Straight up lied to my face.

So I pay the $10 fee and head back out. I reach for my cell phone which was sitting in one of the cup holders. I was going to call my dad and rant. I pick it up, and it's turned off. It was not turned off before. So obviously, at some point, she also felt it necessary to invade my personal property without permission, turning my cell phone off. I had the thing on silent too, I'm not some inconsiderate delinquent who'd be receiving calls during a test, so it wouldn't have been an issue.

Anyway, after I (hopefully, barring some other shady activity) get the license tomorrow, I'd like to report this woman. I do have good cause, right? I mean, she's not allowed to do that, correct? She even said so herself. But I thought I'd ask some peoples opinions.

Call the place. If your 100 percent sure that you never touched that or your cell phone then report her ass.

BTW Driving is overrated ;)

How focused do you have to be to not see someone pull up your e brake and turn off your cell phone?

Maybe you can get CSI Orlando to look into it? Seems like it's going to be just your word against her. Unless others have complained about her before ...

I think (from my experience and many reports) that many DMV employees are just simply miserable. I failed my first road test because the person thought I was going to mess up my parallel parking test - back in NYC - to this day - more than a decade and 1/2 later - I knew I wasn't going to.

Anyway, I just retook the test and passed no problem.

maybe she digs you and wants to see you again tomorrow

seriously dude what proof do you have she did it? Just chill and go to another DMV for a test since you already made a name for yourself at this one. Good luck.

Your game thread post would seem to contradict that. :D

Also whats the point of knowing how to park on a hill, this is Florida lol.

She's clearly a Wizards fan... crack out the Wizards cap for the test and you'll be fine... burn it and scrub yourself in the shower afterwards and hope that Keyon never finds out...

lol, I use the internet as a shield. In person I'm quite timid.

And about not noticing, I don't know what to tell you. You'd think I'd see it, but at one point I had my head turned around looking to see if I was in good position to start backing out of the parking space with the damn cones around it, so my best guess is that she did it right then.

At the end of the day it really isn't that big of a deal, I know. But I'm still pissed. Regardless of how it happened, I feel (Please Use More Appropriate Word) for failing the stupid driving test. So to fail in that fashion just does not sit well with me.

You know what you should do? Call the Dateline show from NBC and that guy that does the "catch a predator" stuff. Then they can outfit you with hidden cameras in ur car so you can catch this spiteful DMV employee. They can title it:"To catch an evil DMV worker."

My prolonged experience with a response to getting the shaft is simply to not respond. You will spend a lot of time and energy, and the powers that be will simply rubber stamp the whole thing. Then, all you are left with is your wasted time and energy.

Life is often unfair. People sometimes cheat for no apparent reason.

In the end all you can do is make sure not to make these personal mistakes when you are confronted with such situations.

And go watch the Magic to unwind! (this is THE reason why I post here after all :) )

Tell the police that she touched you in your special area... just don't tell them your special area is your e-btake and mobile phone.

Let it slide. You can't prove anything, and in the case that she didn't do it, you are messing with someone that maybe didn't deserve it.

Maybe she did it, maybe she didn't......but you'll gain nothing but more irritation by stirring things up.

JMO.

Ps- good luck on the next test....and I flunked my first one too (try parallel parking with a 1969 buick LeSabre (the size of a boat)).

But I got it done the next time. You will too.

wait...she asked you how to park on a hill? roflmao. I never got that question. hell my driving test was basically, "ok drive over there, now when i tell you to come to a quick and safe stop...ok now. ok park. ok now park between those cones. Back in parking. Alright you're good." lol.

I would report her, but don't expect anything to happen. Just simply say you'd like to make a complaint against her. If she's doing this often, there's bound to be a couple complaints in there already, so it could result in her getting in trouble, but more than likely they'll just ignore it as a complaint from "a whiney kid she failed".

But yea, i'm gonna have to say how do you not notice someone pulling the e-brake? I could almost let that one go, but if she went into your phone, you DEFINITELY should've seen that. Unless she was in the car for some reason and you weren't.

She may have done the phone while I was moving my niece's car seat from behind the passenger's seat. I was in the backseat wrestling with that thing, I would have had no idea.

Which btw, had her pissed off from the start because she went to get in and there wasn't much space. I have a baby in the family. Sue me. Jesus.

first of all you made a mistake by keeping a car seat in the car when goign to take your dmv test. you should have no extra stuff in there AT ALL..

just go ot another center and dont worry about it...
