If Hedo is out for an extended length of time

Post#1 » by mattyBoi » Wed Mar 26, 2008 10:43 am

At first i brushed this off as nothing big and juts thought it would be a minor injury...But now im starting to get worried...

Turkoglu, starring as the club's go-to guy this season, sprained his right wrist in a fall with 42 seconds left in the opening period and left with 10:19 remaining in the second. He had his hand wrapped afterward and said he'll have an MRI today. X-rays were difficult to read because of swelling in the wrist.

"I'm crossing my fingers," Turkoglu said. "I just fell on it. I hope it's just a sprain. I hope it's not something like it was broken and keeps me away."

So what do you guys think of a first round matchup without Hedo?

I honestly would say that the chances are very slim that we would pull through...And talk about a horrible way to end such a successful season...It would just be devastating

Heres to you Hedo

pretty much JJ will become a john stockton for us and drop 30/5/15 throughout the playoffs and bring us a trophy.

Based on that snippet, it sounds like Hedo may have broken his wrist (not as bad as a degree as myself back in the day). It would take him at least the rest of the season to heal and maybe a week into the playoffs. :(
Hopefully the swelling drops and no bones are broken.

if hedo broke his wrist he is done for the season and the playoffs. but i highly doubt that is what happened. he did break his wrist back in 2005 but that was on an extremely nasty fall. i think it is pretty obvious if you a break a wrist unless they already know and "want to make sure b/c of the swelling."

If Hedo is out for a span - this is a way for Rashard to quiet some of the "overpaid" detractors. He needs to step up his game to fill in the slack.

Recently he said that he needs to be less passive and not just try to fit in. This is his chance to step up his game and show why he's not just a 3rd option that we paid too much for.

If it's anything more than the sprain, it's a slight break in the wrist. That can heal up in 3-5 weeks.

X-rays showed no break. But soft-tissue damage is likely given the reported severity of swelling.

i just don't see how hedo could have hurt himself enoguh to put him out the rest of the season and the playoffs. i mean i think an injury of that length would have been obvious and they would have known yesterday.

I'd think Rashard Lewis would have to kick it up a notch, and maybe even more. And no, it's not just that Turkoglu is out for a considerable amount of time, it's just that we're not getting what I know we can get out this guy. I hate that Hedo's down, but hey, it's time to see what else Lewis has got.

We need Hedo in the playoffs, but I think it would actually be good for this team to play a couple of weeks without him. We depend so much on Hedo, and yet, unlike Dwight, he doesn't have any skills that aren't held by others on the team -- just not all in one person. With Hedo out, his teammates have to use those abilities. I'm sure he could use the rest and come back really strong.

Cook would end up starting at the 4 with Rashard back at the 3. Essentially proving we won the LA trade as we would have 2 starters for 1 seldom used player

Good to hear there is no tendon or bone damage.
