I was actually watching this game at our stadium....total waste of money...Polish players played with no ambition at all....
and some of them thought that USA=an easy win...
but one thing I can say it with full responsibility....
That was our worst game science Leo Benhakker became our coach(2006)
...they can play better...much better...

In fairness its not all that much to brag about lol. Poland right now arent that tough a team; its hardly like beating a European super power :P

To be fair we did'nt bring all of our players. Poland is better than alot of people are giving them credit. It's all way's the excuse that they under estimated us. The U.S is playing England at Wembely next month. We are better than people are giving us credit for.

Here areresults over our last 11 for the full mens team.
January 20 Denmark 3-1
February 7 Mexico 2-0 W
March 28 Guatemala 0-0 T
June 2 China 4-1 W
June 7 Guatemala # 1-0 W
June 9 Trinidad & Tobago # 2-0 W
June 12 El Salvador # 4-0
June 16 Panama # 2-1 W
June 21 Canada # 2-1 W
June 24 Mexico # 2-1 W
June 28 Argentina @ 1-4 L

for the under 20 world youth championships

June 30 vs. KOR 1-1 T
July 3 vs. POL 6-1 W
July 6 vs. BRA 2-1 W
July 11 vs. URU 2-1 W (OT)
July 14 vs. AUT 1-2 L (OT

and the under 23s just qualified for the Olympics.

For now it is an advantage in games that USA is highly underrated in Europe. When I'm in Italy some people are ignorant to the fact that we are capable of playing soccer. I root for Italy first, my parents were born there and it's just how I was brought up, but in the world cup when USA and Italy drew, it was great(since italy still advanced)

USA definitely lacks forwards. Eddie Johnson can't make a pass, Taylor Twellman can't even get called up since he can only score against crappy MLS defenders, Donovan is kind of more like an attacking midfielder, Ching is decent but nothing special. Future looks a little brighter with Jozy Altidore

Brian Mcbride filled that hole for a long time but he is getting older, so we need to find someone to put up top. Josey Altidore is the up and coming striker, but he is young and he is'nt quite there yet. Ching has been injured and I think his time may be passing him by. I agree Donovan is more of an attacking mid field player. Dempsey and Altidore would be my choice to play up top.
In this game we were mostly European based players. When we get our domestic players and some of our rising youngsters mixed in, we will be poised to make a splash during world cup.
Our last world cup was disapointing considering the prior world cup, but the Czeck Republic was awesome(until Koler went down) and we caught them the 1st game, and then Italy down a man late. It was a tough group. We were not ready. I think Bruce made a mistake with his line ups. He had Eddie Lewis playing playing left back and he got burned and Koler is a monster in the middle. We got off to a bad start and then Arena would not play his second team. Which was a mistake because even though the U.S does'nt have the superstar, one of our advantages is depth, and he did'nt use it. It was bad coaching that killed us in the last world cup, along with a tough group. I'm looking forward to a much better showing the next time.

There are quite a few soccer fans on this board. I follow everything U.S.A and the Premiership. With the Magic, Nascar and the Dolphins it's hard to keep up with much more. I like watching MLS, it's opening week this weekend. With directtv you can get Fox Soccer Channel and get to see alot more soccer than you can get with cable.

Bad coaching and lack of talent upfront. The US tried Italy's defensive strategy without strikers who can score at the slightest opportunity. If you got a young, energy team, you have to create many opportunities since they won't put the ball in the net very easily.

But I liked the US team in the world cup, especially Dempsey, a player who looks a lot better than many Premiership, SerieA or Liga stars. Too bad american players get little attention from europe, so they struggle to develop their game.

The problem I have with Josey Altidore is he try's to be to cute with the ball. He needs to use his speed and his strenght and get more direct with his play.
